An excellent part of an excellent series!!!

As always with this series, the world building is amazing! Creatures like the rubii are so imaginative! I loved learning more of the history and politics, as well as the magic!

Characters are complex, even the villains, and the relationships between characters are a lot of fun! I loved all the siblings relationships and dynamics. The friends to lovers aspect of Astra and Louko works so well for them and, again, a lot of fun! They are two of my favorite characters and you just can't help but feel for them!

There was a great twist I didn't see coming and, beware, there's also heart break!!!

I enjoyed learning more about Tyron! And Euracia, talk about a piece of work and a villain you love to hate!!!

I'm really excited to read the rest of the series!!!

I devoured this book like Crème Brûlée devours Ember's cupcakes!!!

A perfect blend of romance, cozy, and mystery!!! Exciting, edge-of-seat chapters mixed with slice of life goodness! And I really appreciated that twist!!! I love when I don't see it coming and this was really well done!

This might be my favorite Kat Kinney book yet, which is saying something because I've seriously loved all her books! I've been excited for Norah and Ember's story since the first Everwood Falls book and it surpassed all high expectations!!! Page 1 , alone, immediately establishes individual character voice you can't help but love and a dynamic you can't help but root for.

I love the themes touching on topics such as letting someone love all of you including the parts of you that you hide!

Ember's gran rocks and ermagawd is Crème Brûlée the cutest!!!

Fun contemporary fantasy, with lots of fun contemporary references! Always love getting to see the other characters after their stories, like Asher & Gwyn and Sage & Gideon! The incorporation of Greek mythology was really cool, too!

5 star review of Rotten Roots by Susanne Schmidt!

An atmospheric spooky read!!!

I got goosebumps reading this! The writing immediately draws you in to this haunting town and you immediately feel connected to Sven! Fi is awesome, too!!! The suspense had me at the edge of my seat and the questions kept me turning the page! When everything is finally revealed, not only are you put in the midst of the horror, but your heart breaks, too!

I really enjoyed learning a bit about German folklore, as well!

I'll definitely be reading the rest of the series!

I absolutely LOVE Karen Lykkebo's writing style! It's the kind of writing you want to savor! Her descriptions are incredible! The story itself is very sweet with lovely characters! The world she crafts on Gods Mountain is full of enchantment and you can feel the magic as you read! I look forward to more in the series!

Astra wasn’t sure if she was supposed to smile back. “...something?”
“I, uh—you know—uh, like…” His unfinished thoughts sputtered to a halt, and all in a moment, he seemed to deflate. “We, uh. Could go out…go out and get a pet? Like maybe a cat?” Another one of those weird grins.
Now Astra was truly concerned. “Are you sure you’re alright?” she asked, looking him over. “Don’t you dislike animals?”

Anyone have specific characteristics that their characters maybe accidentally ended up taking on? For instance, Niamh always talks about the weather when she is anxious and unsure what to say, and so Louko ends up talking about the weather in his head a great deal because he is anxious 😆 #booksky

Great read to be accompanied by some chameleon tea (made me laugh)!

A great blend of magic, world building! The steampunk elements are really cool, too!

The story keeps you captivated and wanting to turn the page. I really love how the answers to questions unfold alongside the plot, rather than being told everything up front. It's an aspect of this entire series that I really appreciate.

You come to care for these characters in book 2 of the series, but it's been amazing in this book learning more of the characters' backstory. It adds so much to them and you come to appreciate each one even more!

Really nice to see Baey come into her own, her growth, but also everything she brings to the table and her friendship with Sven and Estasia! Sven and Estasia remain two of my favorites!

Exciting action, made all the more satisfying for the training leading up to it!

The chapters with Skayla offer incredible insight into her character, motivations, and even possibly what happened to her!

I really feel for Tanner and the burden of his power.

Each character offers so much insight about different aspects of the world! Complex characters with complex relationships. And the new characters quickly fall into the category of favorites, as well (looking at Marion in particular!)

The shocks and the heart break and the hopelessness and then the twists in part two that I never saw coming!!! It's everything I fell in love with in this series, keeping you absolutely enthralled until the last page and immediately needing more!

Great read accompanied by some chameleon tea (made me laugh)!
