I randomly had thoughts about how my book OCs would respond to it being my birthday, so I made them into little doodle strips.

Panel 1 - Beck: "Happy Birthday! I made you pancakes" Me: "Thank you! I'm a little surprised it's not drugs"
Panel 2 - Beck, a little puzzled: "Why would I give you drugs?"
Panel 3 - Beck, with sudden realization and a little concerned: "Wait, did you want drugs?"

Panel 1 - Marko wraps an arm over my shoulder, saying "Happy Birthday you beautiful bitch"
Panel 2 - Marko pushes his face to mine, clasping my shoulders, grinning much too widely, saying "You ready to get fucking WASTED??"
Panel 3 - Marko pushes me onward ahead of him, presumably to some club, grinning wide, emoting hearts. My eyes are dizzy spirals.

Panel 1 - Harro says "Happy Birthday" and offers a wrapped gift and a bouquet
Panel 2 - I am holding an unwrapped bottle and flowers, emoting hearts. I say "Oh perfume! How did you know I collect scents?" In very small text underneath that it says "So expensive."
Panel 3 - Harro kisses my forehead gently with a "chu" and says "Think of me when you wear it...?" My expression is blank.
Panel 4 - I am left alone, face still blank, face completely red and steaming.

Today is my birthday! I would love it if people could share my art 🥰🎂

Two men sit on a chair, one straddling it sideways on top of the other's lap, one leg dangling over the chair's arm. They lean against each other, the lower supporting the second, leaning into each other as if falling asleep, heads touching, limbs falling limp. Meanwhile the chair they sit in catches fire, threatening to consume them completely. One of the men regards the flames with unconcerned, open eyes, the other remains unmoved, as if the fire cannot wake him.

A composition featuring two angles of the same scene. My OCs. A man - Marko, tall, wearing layers of club wear, with a cybernetic futuristic prosthetic arm, slicked back blonde hair and an undershave - leans against a wall in the kabedon (wall slam) style over another man - Beck, scrungly, wearing a thread-worn hoodie and patched jeans, with dark neck-length wavy hair and a short trimmed unkempt stubbly beard. Marko bends down to light his cigarette off the one in Beck's mouth, which Marko is supporting with his own hand, the back of his fingers almost touching the smaller man's lips. The view on the left is a full body from behind, the view on the right is closer and from the side, showing their faces. Marko has a look on his face that is almost desperate, longing, or predatory. Beck is rather non-expressive and his reaction is unreadable. The scene is more suggestive than literal, somewhat non-euclidean, not quite making sense in space. They are lit by a massive ring of light behind them that frames their heads in the closeup section like a halo, clipped by the walls they are leaning on and the crop of the image.

My OC, Urzu. An attractive dark elf with dusky black skin, lavender purple eyes, and long silver white hair styled partially down and partially in multiple braids including one thick one down his back. He wears a backless top, laced pants with severe side openings that show off his skin, and knee high boots in a Gothic medieval reminiscent style.

My OC Beck wearing an extremely loose long sleeved sweater top, torn up patched jeans, and skate shoes with one foot unlaced. Beck is a brown skinned man with neck length disheveled wavy hair, unkempt stubble, and heavy eye bags.

I have a Toyhouse page for him, but in short, he's Urzuizriden, Urzu for short. Ex-magically enslaved prince/political prisoner/military commander/spy/assassin, now a planeswalker's traveling companion. He's coy and flirty and caustic AF. He acts like arm candy so people underestimate him.

I openly admit to being easily influenced. I have done random drawings on a whim, for the bit, based on stray comments. I have been encouraged into directions based on feedback. You can make a viewer care about a mailbox, or a backpack, by making the CHARACTERS care about those things. To show joy, or fear, or great sorrow, basically to *express care* for that other character (or object!). Our empathy can sometimes carry harder than attempts at making characters relatable.

Buddy (the movie) really drives home that in short format the best way to make a viewer care about a character (even a nonsense one) isn't necessarily to try to make a connection between the viewer and the character, but to demonstrate the connection between that character and another character.

if the constant barrage of ads wasn't enough to convince you, install an adblocker today, so your photos, messages, etc. won't be accessible to a third party who displays a malware-laden ad on your screen. Adguard/Adguard For Safari seem to work best on my computer and phone, if that helps
