Compulsive truth seeker, oscillating between despair and hope. People who use their real names on social media are either incredibly brave or incredibly stupid. Yes, I am aware of the contradiction.

So what I’m hearing is that Hegseth is President Snow and we are in the Hunger Games without a Katniss or Plutarch.

Colin Kaepernick talked about how the last hurdle to playing in the NFL was an interview process during which they’d ask questions completely unrelated to football. The questions were to weed out those who wouldn’t conform.

DOGE was sold as a “massive money-saving operation.” But it actually saved nothing. The story was always about gutting the federal workforce and reshaping the agencies themselves. A new GAO report estimates federal agencies spent $9.5 billion on paid administrative

We ran experiments in marine biology class in college on the effects of diesel on sea urchin embryos. Unsurprisingly, they all disintegrated. Knowing that was one thing. Seeing the blastocysts just rupture under the microscope was another. Imagine that seeping into the surroundings. Horrific.

There is a way to criticize the whipping of patriotic fervor as a propaganda tool without deflating whatever healing others might find from what you perceive to be a practice in hollow sentimental language. This was not it.

1/ Just in: An anonymous federal worker has filed a whistleblower disclosure warning that the U.S. Postal Service's attempt to create a system to regulate mail voting for the midterms has been "rushed, chaotic, and fundamentally flawed." @propublica.org has the details 👇
Screenshot of the top of a whistleblower disclosure titled "USPS Rushed Implementation of New and Untested IT Systems Threatens U.S. Ballot Mail Delivery." Addressed to Senator Blumenthal, the first point details how the whistleblower has "significant concerns about the USPS's secretive, rushed, chaotic, and fundamentally flawed process for the creation and implementation of an entirely new and untested set of IT systems" intended for the 2026 midterms.
