I have withdrawn from here (and from the Other PLace) for Lent, but I thought #CofEPeeps would want to see this - esp. if serving or retired clergy. I'm not qualified to commment on what he's saying, but others might be. Source: this weekend's @financialtimes.com
Article from the Financial Times 21st February 'Money' section.
John Ralfe argues that the C of E Pensions Board is taking unnecessary risks with the funds they have available in their current programme to increase clergy pensions.

This turned up as a reading this morning, and I found myself thinking about the current state of the USA...✝️
Image of verses 29 and 30 from Ezekiel chapter 22.
" The people of the land practice extortion and commit robbery; they oppress the poor and needy and mistreat the alien, denying them justice. 30 “I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none."

Great image of ++Sarah Mullaly in the Weekend Financial Times today. ✝️
Sketch portrait of the new Archbishop of Canterbury by the artist Cummings in today's Financial Times. She is holding a crozier which is gleaming in the light across to her hair - and she has a smile on her face.

A cartoon: Cycling on a budget. Summarising just a small amount of the info you'll find on budgetcycling.uk. (Image from the book 'From A to B', by Dave Walker, published by Bloomsbury.)
Cartoon: Cycling on a budget

Some ideas for getting going without spending too much money.

Lots of people have bikes they don't use in their garages and sheds.
Lots of bikes are bought with good intentions, but hardly used.
A 'hybrid' is a good choice.
See whether any of your friends or family have a bike they don't need.
You can get a really good bike by buying secondhand
Don't buy a really cheap new bike from the internet or non-specialist shop (Heavy; Cheap full-suspension worse than no suspension; Has it been properly set up?; Will probably break down)
Advantage of a budget bike: Far less risk of it being stolen
This year's model is often last year's, painted differently
You don't need all the bells and whistles to enjoy cycling*
*You need one bell
