If you're still using Upwork, they'll be using your data to train AI models as of Jan 5, 2026. Allegedly, this will be for your benefit and not third parties, but it includes your "work product" and communications. I suggest you opt out!
Screenshot of Upwork policy page: "What information of mine are you using to train the All use on Upwork? By default, as of Jan. 5, 2026, we'll train Upwork's Al models exclusively for you by looking at your:
• Work product data. Work product refers to the materials created and shared as part of a contract on Upwork. This can include deliverables, documents, attachments, designs, written content, etc.
• Communications data. Communications data, like your conversations in Upwork Messages, provide valuable context for how collaboration happens on Upwork, including how projects are proposed, scoped, and successfully delivered
Note: Other platform data is also shared with us to help improve everyone's experience on Upwork.
This data includes actions you take across Upwork. For example, if you are a client, we may use your job posts to help train our Al models. If you are a freelancer, we may leverage your proposals to do so. You can decide whether to share this data in your Upwork account settings, under Al preferences."

I understand the frustration at mass tourism in Mexico City, but I think the common thread here is #Airbnb. It’s destroyed the housing market in CDMX, NYC, and Barcelona. It should be heavily regulated, if not banned, and responsible digital nomads should avoid using it. thehill.com/homenews/ap/...
Today, more than 26,000 properties in Mexico City are currently listed on Airbnb, according to the Inside Airbnb, an advocacy organization that tracks the company’s impact on residential communities through data. That’s compared to 36,000 properties in New York City and 19,000 in Barcelona, where protests have also broken out.
“The government has treated housing like it’s merchandise,” Salinas said. The actions the government is taking “are completely insufficient. The federal government needs to be intervening far more nowadays.”
