Anyone else think rapists should have to wear a bright red “R” for the rest of their life, and be punished if they hide it? There’s talk of how one mistake shouldn’t affect the rest of someone’s life. But it should follow the predator as much as it haunts the survivor.

I only saw “True Lies” in the theater because I knew the “Star Trek Generations” trailer was in front of it. But, I stayed for the movie and loved it. I feel like “Lies” was under the radar. Like, there was no hype, it just came to theaters and was a hit. Still a favorite of mine!

In “V”, the visitors came to Earth to take our water. I have to assume that it’s because the visitors have many AI data centers and have turned their world into a desert because they had computers making pictures of sharks wearing sneakers. This is a cautionary tale for our times.

Writer/Director Kenneth Johnson did three great things in his career: 1) Made “The Incredible Hulk” work on TV. 2) Wrote “V” 3) Adapted “Alien Nation” into a cult TV series. If you love science fiction, Johnson should be one of your heroes.

Currently watching the original 1983 mini-series “V”. It shows a system of terror that smiles on the outside, establishes state TV, recruits people looking to belong, suppresses science, and turn out to be fascist dictators. Good thing it’s just science fiction.

I’m back to “To Kill a Mockingbird”. The court room scene always gets me. The Finch kids are up in the balcony with the African-Americans, and they have no fear or second thoughts of being there. Tom Robinson is surrounded by angry white people and you can feel his isolation. Great direction!

Look at the demands of “I Love Lucy” and “Bonanza”! The Western went 431 episodes from the late 1950s to the early 70s! I used to think I was spoiled in the 90s when there were two Trek shows on, and we got 52 new episodes a year!

In “To Kill a Mockingbird”, Atticus Finch is a lawyer, activist and father. The movie forces his kids to see him as a person, while he tries to protect them from the vile side of humanity, namely racism. This movie, and the book before it, are truly amazing for the width and breadth of this hero.
