Yeah but he hasn’t the smarts to work that loophole out, so who did? There’s a whole team at work on this.

I'm pretty sure in the history books, threatening the life of the monarch is, you know, treasonous.

That's the trouble with Switzerland - it's so beautiful it doesn't seem real, and when you're there you could easily forget the rest of the world exists.

Where is there an actual discussion and investigation into why so many media outlets are so craven about him and his cohort, why they think he has to be constantly taken as a done deal and a serious person? Just because Cameron ran scared of him over Brexit, which is a proven failure? Mindboggling.

How about he defines 'bad things', who they'll happen to, who they won't happen to, who will benefit from the 'bad things' and why they should, what things happening would be worth the losses and then maybe we can talk? Except we know who benefits, which is why this is an insane timeline.

I strongly believe schools should bring children together rather than try to impose one religious identity on them. If you agree - please add your name and call on the Education Secretary to introduce inclusive assemblies for all, and to keep dangerous Christian Nationalism OUT of our schools.

My colleague told me today that her four year old son asked her last night about Pandora's box. She was understandably flummoxed as to where he's heard about it. I sent her to Stands up for the Classics to help her out with further enquiries. And said it was a jar actually for starters.

This week on his TV show, Nigel Farage laughed at a clip of a woman in tears because of the racism she’d experienced. “I can’t stop laughing,” he said. When people tell you who they are, believe them. And then don’t vote Reform.

How they engender apathy - between trying to cope with the utter nonsense and obvious lies plus the terrifying implications of real horrors, they want everyone to sit out elections, be content with scraps and stop thinking about it all. Not just in America. Rather hoping they get rage instead.

“Life is crap, vote for us” is a losing message. The first half is not true and, even if it were, the second does not follow. Farage…used to know all this.” But now he just lines his pockets while he moans and exudes hatred and disloyalty. We’re very bored of it. giftarticle.ft.com/giftarticle/...

Perhaps he'd like to ask the people who hired those workers why they prefer to import them than hire local labourers who would need training for what is actually a skilled job and want higher wages, for a start. Why is it never the bosses and hiring firms under scrutiny? Oh I know...

Glad folks are appalled by photos of the "phone booth" cage under an awning, but pls understand: This IG report is likely part of a cover-up. Amnesty Int'l interviewed detainees EIGHT MONTHS AGO who said the cage was half this size (couldn't stand up), had no awning, w feet chained to the bottom.

This US far-right infiltration of Britain should be of more concern to us all, but particularly the British government than it is. It is an obvious reason why we shouldn't be using Palantir for anything at all. They're as much a threat to our National Security as China or Russia.

'Weaponising' is one of those words that gets deployed as the first line of defensiveness - 'weaponising the law' as in saying it should be applied, 'weaponising the truth' as in saying there is a right answer, 'weaponising ideas' as in some of them are based in reality not prejudice. Always a war.

Rhina Espaillat, for your labor day weekend
"FIND WORK”
I tie my Hat--I crease my Shawl--
Life's little duties do--precisely
As the very least
Were infinite--to me--
                   Emily Dickinson, #443

My mother's mother, widowed very young
of her first love, and of that love's first fruit,
moved through her father's farm, her country tongue
and country heart anaesthetized and mute
with labor. So her kind was taught to do—
"Find work," she would reply to every grief—
and her one dictum, whether false or true,
tolled heavy with her passionate belief.
Widowed again, with children, in her prime,
she spoke so little it was hard to bear
so much composure, such a truce with time
spent in the lifelong practice of despair.
But I recall her floors, scrubbed white as bone,
her dishes, and how painfully they shone.
