This is the Point a La Hache Ferry landing, the lowest vehicle crossing on the River. The landing is 30 miles from the French Quarter as the crow flies, but 47 miles down the River. The River is 2500 feet wide here and the sheer volume of water passing you cannot be described.

This is what did it for me

A chart showing the relative sizes or various grass species above and below the ground line. On the far left is regular turf grass, growing only an inch or two up and down. The rest of the grasses grow upwards one to six feet, and downwards two to twelve feet.
