Theatre of the absurd! Trump announces US will buy diesel from russia even though he signed a law mandating sanctions for any country buying russian energy. Meanwhile russia actually has a diesel export ban because they can’t meet domestic demand.

Envious. I never got the timings right. Watching Part 2 without Part 1 felt weird.

Sure. But Derrida would remind us that language is never innocent. The conscious intentions of those wearing balaclavas do not exhaust the meanings their imagery produces. Deconstruction concerns precisely this instability between intention, signification and the cultural histories embedded in signs

You’re confusing erotic attraction with homoeroticism as a political and aesthetic structure. Andrew Hewitt’s Political Inversions explores precisely the relationship between homosexuality, fascism and the modernist imaginary. The point is ideological, not whether you fancy a man in a balaclava.

Philosophically there is always contamination. Fascist echoes are unmistakable-mothers and grandmothers, bloodline and inheritance. Then the men in balaclavas with that peculiar homoerotic tension between concealment and display, the seen and unseen, so characteristic of fascist and Nazi aesthetics.

Maths was never my strong suit - only algebra which I probably spelt incorrectly because is too early - so I mourn the passing of my C grade with a very early morning and crossing a frontier.

I’m in Switzerland at the moment and loving a heavily regulated environment where everything is precise, beautifully made, with attention to detail. And so quiet at night.

can a 1.5T parameter frontier model ethically date a 70B parameter locally hosted agent or is the power imbalance inherently unethical?

I‘ve met Starmer. He has a brilliant mind no doubt but best suited to the meticulous rules of law. And if you stand back and look at it - after Brexit and Corbyn, he was necessary to bring the sober rule of law back into the political space.

I‘ve never been a massive fan of JB but a Yes to all of the above. I‘m a Rotring pen addict btw but have an obsession with writing in receipts, serviettes and the inside covers of books - I might be a bit of an outlier.

He couldn’t frame policy - communication and the ability to frame policy is a real art. Andy B is brilliant at it. Starmer was terrible.

Starmer couldn’t frame policy - if you can’t frame policy as a leader you are stuck - Starmer in a nutshell. Andy B - has the authentic story on this and is great at policy framing so I’m agnostic ally positive (if that makes sense) ❤️

No. I don’t think that is quite fair. Andy B is sincere, given his father’s death. The harder truth is that we will need to pay more tax. The empty words are often those of voters, sadly.
