14 years ago I wanted to work with Blizzard so badly, I got myself hired as a figure model for the drawing classes and drove 3 hours+ to/from Irvine every week. Now after hosting at Blizzcon, voicing characters, and making lifelong friends on the teams, I support making Blizz BETTER for them. 💜

I sit here and cry sometimes. I love games. It was the best thing ever to make something that gives people joy. THAT'S what they are. They aren't just someone's bottom line, they are joy and art and team work, and so of it is getting destroyed like it's nothing www.gamedeveloper.com/business/opi...

Opinion: Everything hurts and no one knows when the pain will end

As mass layoffs continue in the game industry, developers must reckon with how to handle the uncertainty and pain of the moment.

It's been just staggering how much the games industry is at the whims of people who don't care, will not care, and simply do not have to care about games.

Today Xbox is beginning on their brave new marketing campaign to let their fanbase know that the all-new XBOX is embracing a brand new and focused strategy, in which the famous video games company cancels their beloved product, the video games.

Our games industry is people. Our studios are people. Our teams people, our games by people for people. Our games are made by people, in groups of people, in teams of people, making people things for people. The magic is people, and the people deserve so much better than all this. I am so sorry.

"Game dev is one of those jobs you only do when you really want to. It's not going to make your parents proud, you're unlikely to get rich in an industry that lays off people for making superhits, and its a demanding & confrontative job. Why would you let a machine do the thing you're here to do?"

84 years ago today, President Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066, ordering the removal and incarceration of more than 120,000 Japanese Americans, about two-thirds of whom were US citizens. The Day of Remembrance this year comes as we see DHS buying land and warehouses for more camps now.

February 19, 2026

INSTRUCTIONS TO ALL PERSONS OF JAPANESE ANCESTRY

As survivors and descendants of the mass removals, detention, deportation, and family separation targeting our community during WWII, we refuse to stand by idly while our friends and neighbors are violently disappeared, forcibly removed, mass incarcerated, and separated from family members.

We decry the murders of community members and at least 37 people in ICE custody and enforcement in 2025.

We reject false narratives that state violence is "unavoidable," a "justifiable military action," necessary for "national security"—the same arguments used as they forced our parents, grandparents, aunties, and uncles into U.S. concentration camps in 1942.

On this Day of Remembrance, we call on Japanese Americans and all people who believe in "Never Again" to demand justice for those we have lost—on the streets and hidden away in ICE detention centers. To break this cycle of state violence. To rise up and resist, together.

We bravely commit to being the allies our familes needed during WWII.

STOP REPEATING HISTORY.

Hi #PortfolioDay ! I'm late and I'm also Mochi! 💕 I freelance digital 2D these days. I almost solely draw humanoid characters, but I strive to work more on OC stuff this year I also have a comic called Scion of a Titan, which is currently being rebooted! 🥰

Original character named Guillemette. She is mostly cybernetic, her false limbs having a jet black, shiny appearance. She is moderately tan with a bobbed haircut. Her hair is black with 3 silver streaks.

Commission of an anthropomorphic maned wolf character. She has a mohawk that's black and blue, alternating evenly throughout. She has an identical lanky dragon tattoo on both of her arms. She has a robot hand for her left hand, and red painted nails. She's wearing a punkish outfit with a strapped, cropped shirt, and short shorts. Her tail is painted blue and minty green.

Commission of a character with a bobbed haircut. Her hair is silver that fades to white at the bottom. She has a golden necklace with minty green jewels. Her eyes are a striking purple, on the pinkish side.

Gift art of a cat-like girl: a miqo'te from Final Fantasy XIV. She is heavily customized from the in-game options, with a high ponytail, and evenly cut bangs. The hair above either cheek is evenly cut, but longer than the bangs. Her hair gradients from a dark-brown or black color to a reddish color. Her eyes are a powerful golden-yellow. Her skin is a moderate tan/brown color.

Koi girl 🫧✦ Finally finished this pretty girlie and to my surprise, I really enjoyed drawing fish... I look forward to drawing them again sometime I hope you like her~ 😊

Fullbody digital illustration of a girl with fish "swimming" around her in a surrealism-type way. Her hair is buttocks-length and dark brown. Her eyes are dark brown, almost black. She has teal lipstick and orange eyeshadow-eyeliner type eye makeup. Her nails are a shiny orange, matching the fish. The girl is wearing a skin-tight, teal-green one-piece outfit with orange sleeves, a square pattern adorning each of them. The fish swimming around her are different types of koi. There are pink bubbles to add to the fish half of this piece. Color scheme is inspired by "art nouveau."

BREAKING NOW: "all major world maps" on the online game GeoGuessr have been privated in protest of GeoGuessr's decision to participate in the Esports World Cup in Riyadh. map creators write that the EWC is used by Saudi Arabia "to distract from and conceal its horrific human rights record." full:

We, the creators of a considerable share of GeoGuessr's most popular maps, have decided to make our maps unplayable in protest of GeoGuess AB's decision to host a World Championship wildcard tourney at the Esports World Cup (EWC) in Riyadh.
The EWC is a sportswashing tool used by the government of Saudi Arabia to distract from and conceal its horrific human rights record.
Groups targeted by the government include women, LGBTQ people, apostates and atheists, political dissenters, migrant workers in the Kafala system, religious minorities, and many others. The subjugation of these groups is extensive and pervasive. Members of these groups are routinely subjected to discrimination, imprisonment, torture, and even public executions. These severe human rights violations are well-documented and indisputable.
By participating in the EWC, GeoGuessr is contributing to that sportswashing agenda, which is designed to take attention away from Saudi Arabia's human rights violations.

The GeoGuess community is diverse and includes many members of groups that would be harshly persecuted were they to live in Saudi Arabia. In solidarity with those currently residing in Saudi Arabia while being subject to oppression, as well as members of the community who would feel and be unsafe attending the tournament in Riyadh, we have decided to black out our maps by replacing all their previous locations with random garbage locations, rendering them unplayable.
This blackout includes dozens of creators and their maps, including a supermajority of the most popular competitively relevant world maps. It will continue until we see action from GeoGuess; specifically, we demand that GeoGuess cancels its wildcard event in Saudi Arabia and commits to not hosting any events there as long as it continues its oppressive regime.
You don't play games with human rights.
Thank you for reading.
The GeoGuess mapping community
