The next version of Raycast (v2) is using cross platform tech — time to find a new launcher and clipboard history app. Desktop utilities like these need to be as resource efficient as possible if I'm leaving them running in the background all of the time.

If we make it to November 2026 without resignation, 25th amendment, or a soft or hard coup, there will only be one issue on the ballot: take both houses and immediately impeach both of them, and inaugurate President Jeffries and Vice President Booker. I do not see a soft landing or graceful exit.

I used to rely on the controlActiveState environment value to check whether a macOS window is focused in #SwiftUI, but it's deprecated since macOS 15. The replacement is the appearsActive value, which is true when the window is focused and false when it's not: nilcoalescing.com/blog/DetectF...

I love how we can use the symbolVariant() modifier in #SwiftUI instead of typing full SF Symbol names like "star.fill". It even works on multiple symbols at once!

David Lynch passes away at 78 after a battle with emphysema. He had stated in 2024 that he could no longer leave his home due to the high risk of Covid. If more people would mask up, we wouldn’t have to isolate. “You do you” policies leave people like Lynch with no choice but to “just stay home”

I’ve been implementing copy-to-clipboard functionality in a Mac app and found it’s a bit different from iOS. On iOS, UIPasteboard automatically replaces the clipboard contents, but with NSPasteboard, we need to clear them manually for it to work #SwiftLang nilcoalescing.com/blog/CopyStr...
