Given the 25 years since UK turned down the option of joining the Euro, one part of me just thinks, "Wait. We should join the Euro when we're ready, and then, obviously, it'll be time to join the EU.

Well it would, wouldn't it. You're unwrapping your airmiles.

Absolutely. El Greco had issues as well, but we learn to adapt and take our followers on a journey. 😆 Aging is worth it though, it has to be said.

Now I have a new intraocular lens I feel like I am seeing clear contrast for the first time. I guess the cataracts had made me gradually forget what contrast should be.

Now? But this started at the turn of the century, aka, decades ago.

I was thinking the same ... from a comedy sketch of a little old lady standing in the middle of the road. 😆

Really good. 🏆 I've saved spiders from the kitchen sink in a similar manner, but not in the face of an incoming storm.

Yeah, let them go. And if it doesn't work out so well we can just call it a 'teachable moment'.

If it says macro on the body then quite likely a specialist piece from the '60s. I can't imagine a dual use lens that early. There was once a good site covering all of Pentax's M42 lenses but I think it may be gone now. These days my only M42s are German.

From the earliest useful grains, it's taken us some 8,000 years to invent and refine the perfect pasta salad. But whatever, we'll probably be extinct soon.

It's like the "Switch to digital" gag in an early 21st c police thriller. If your original is a grainy image, anything that appears to be improved resolution is just made-up stuff.

Already way over that, but the comforting thought is that boomers, as a generation, will become extinct in the not too distant future. There will be at least one documentary discussing the life of "the last boomer". And maybe a commemorative fridge-magnet.

Nate's mentioned in the thread, though I didn't get to see Marcus Miller or James Genus, and only a few notes on Jack Casady and Phil Lesh.

It's weird. There's a daily game I have played more than 1000 times online (it only takes a few minutes) and each day it presents ads. So, I've likely been fed more than a thousand ads in a row and I have NO IDEA what any single one of them was for.

I don't know who Alex is, but I'm hoping the Restore Lost Emails function will retrieve the message that got dumped in the Spam folder and then accidentally deleted. Do not open email before coffee; that's all I can say.

Diarrhoea was a favourite word of the art teacher. I suspect this stemmed from his time with the Eighth Army in North Africa.

More fun for onstage comparison, not just a solo and more than a duet, but Larry Carlton, Chuck Loeb, and Lee Ritenour playing Silverado in Fourplay, in Tokyo, 2013. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Khkv...

I assume you'd done a quote-post but then the author 'detached' it from your text. Not always a problem, but it seemed ironic given the context. 😉

That pushed a button ... and on a search I found that the phrase was the title of an article by Robert Ruark. Fairly sure that I read one of his novels half a century ago. 😆

You could pick almost anything from the late Chuck Loeb, or maybe Larry Carlton. It just depends what appeals to you.
