I'll give Nintendo this much, at least they always clearly state on the box what is a Game Key Card and what isn't. (Glares at every Bethesda disc.) While the download server won't always be there, at least, for now, I can share the cart with my kids easily enough, find games used, etc.

I have a piece in this! I didn't have a memory card for the first couple of weeks owning a PlayStation and I was bad at Resident Evil 2, so I saw Claire's exchange with Kendo loads of times! Check out the full zine. It's got comtributions from tonnes of skilled artists.

That's not a commentary on the quality of the video. The video could be amazing. I don't know. I never clicked through because I couldn't get past that initial assumption / hurdle of, "That sounds like cognitive overload. How can you say anything meaningful about any of the games in that format?"

There's a balance somewhere. I'm an Evangelion fan, I'm a lifelong gamer, AuDHD means I always have something on my second screen while working, so this should appeal to me. 51 games in 72 minutes sounds exhausting though. Cut off 10 mins for intro, outro and sponsor and each game gets ~73 seconds.

In the meantime, if you want to make Sonic comics more widely available, I recommend pointing people to projects like stcScans.zone. We've made the books available digitally for free in high quality. Sega have a really strong track record of leaving fan efforts alone as long as no money is involved.

You could investigate a licensed release through the appropriate channels. It will likely be messy as multiple rights holders are involved. We saw how long it took for the GoldenEye video game to get re-released. Running your own site only increases your liability and chances of ending up in court.

Not to be mean, but I don't see how you have any grounds to appeal. It sucks that Archie and Fleetway aren't in print anymore, but that doesn't mean you can legally print and sell your own omnibuses. "The rights holders aren't doing anything with it." sadly doesn't matter in the eyes of the law.
