If anyone is struggling to understand how our media and politicians are still talking about an RAF Fairford "bomb plot" when there were no bombs found, then the Forest Gate raid in 2006 is a useful comparison en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forest_...
Photo taken by Netpol's campaigns coordinator in 2006 of the end of Lansdown Rd in Forest Gate, closed by police after a "bomb plot" terrorism raid led to the sealing off of the area for a week. One man was shot but fortunately survived – there was no bomb factory, yet the Kahar family were smeared by the media for weeks

Heya folks. We're on a final push to get to £10k. We're on just over £8.3k. That's less than 1/10th of what fascist Danny Tommo has recently received inndonations after slashing a dinghy with an RNLI worker on it at sea. Meanwhile our comrade faces more than 12x the jailtime for opposing fascism.

Crazy transfer fees in football, driven by American ownership. MLS is the most heavily regulated league in the world because with it's predecessor those American owners spent so much money they all went bankrupt. It's coming and is going to destroy British football. Only question is when.

Netpol stands in solidarity with US Legal Observers facing brutal repression from ICE agents and police. We send our love & rage to the family & comrades of Renée Nicole Good, executed on the street as she & her wife sought to bear witness to the racist violence inflicted in their home city.
The Network for Police Monitoring stands in solidarity with Legal Observers in Minneapolis facing brutal violence from police and border forces. We send our love and rage to the family and comrades of Renée Nicole Good, executed on the street as she and her wife Becca Good sought to bear witness to the racist violence inflicted on marginalised and migrant people in their home city: the raids, disappearances and executions currently taking place across the United States.

Legal Observing is a simple act of solidarity. Legal Observers underpin efforts to resist state repression, bearing witness to police abuse of power so that violence is recorded and redress is possible. In Britain that abuse of power is purposeful and targeted at marginalised, migrant and racialised people. Here, as in the US, police and border enforcers detain, deport, injure and kill with impunity. The British state, like others across the Global North, has blood on its own hands for the inhumane border regimes and hostile environment policies which continue to result in preventable deaths. And here, as in the US, Legal Observers are subject to worsening violence and restraint. This is not exceptional to the US, but an escalating global system of border and police brutality.

Netpol stands with all Legal Observers, Copwatchers, anti-raids and migrant solidarity organisers who are committed to a just and equitable world. We stand, always, with those killed, injured, detained and deported by police and border forces, and with their families. We call on all liberation movements to continue to support and centre those most at risk of state violence: Black, brown and racialised people, migrant people, Muslim people, trans and disabled people. We recognise that intensification of border violence is only one tactic in a colonial project of control, and will continue our work accordingly. We believe in a future free of police violence, with freedom of movement and adequate resources available to all.

This happens *all the time*. Cops do what they want and it doesn't even occur to them that they might need a legal basis for their actions until they're actively challenged - and even then they carry on regardless.
When police surrounded her and asked her to put the sign down she asked them what legislation they were relying on. She said she was told officers were finding out the answer, but was not given an explanation and was arrested, searched, bundled into a police van and taken to Bromley police station.
