I have a set of beads that are GORGEOUS but THEIR HOLES ARE DRILLED WRONG so I'm USING THEM but I'm VERY GRUMPY ABOUT IT. (Left is an example of "good" piercing, right is the "annoying" ones.)

Two necklace segments in tones of copper and teal/turquoise. The center beads of each segment are both hexagons, where the left ones are drilled through the "center" of opposite sides of the bead, making them hang centered on the segment post, whereas the right-hand hexagon is drilled off-center.

They're all very pretty and well made but I assembly-line make them, so a tidy heap is the best way for them to await final touches. It's just a far cry from the pretty photographs/displays they'll eventually be seen in/on.

I don't like how people use the word "performative." A protest is a performance. A marriage is a performance. Every time the President - any President - speaks into a microphone, it's a performance. Does this mean we treat those things as inconsequential? No, they have a meaningful Quality to them.

I ended up with arthritis early (according to Drs.) because I pushed myself too hard to illustrate a tarot deck. I was painting with my fingers swollen, grieving my cat and in constant stress and pain. In the end, they discontinued the deck in just a year. No heads up, no "thank you". Not worth it.
