You know that narrative ellipsis thing where a story skips over things we assume happened? Like using the toilet, commuting, changing clothes, waiting around. (Bathroom stuff is especially absent because of a lingering toilet taboo).

Think I’ll continue working on my dissertation for why Estraven/Arek's relationship in Le Guin's LHOD was important and shouldn’t be "scrubbed away." The uncomfortable part is doing structural work in the novel. Tumblr people won’t like it but that's perfectly okay. I’m not here to make friends.
