That's why I've made like three videos in the last two years, because I'm in a period of my life where I'm kind of being forced to massively reevaluate my relationship to my chosen medium. So I decided to put all my cards down for a large, full length video essay about the flaws of D&D 5e's combat engine that I used to try to branch out into making videos about tabletop game design more broadly. It's my most ambitious, and imo my most well made video to date. It hugely underperformed.

I felt the need to move on to a different topic, and Trench Crusade was promising, but a lot of my passion for creating videos about it faltered due to the extremely long wait times between major releases, and the sense of not having stable ground beneath my feet due to how young the game is.

Like with Warhammer's Gender Problem I had basically said everything I felt needed to be said about Warhammer 40k from the perspective of performing a literary analysis on the setting. And videos which are about 40k as a piece of game design tend to perform extremely poorly.

Having played a few games of 40k 11th edition now, I think people are overestimating the degree to which the changes to how cover and terrain work actually advantage melee armies. Yes, it's now much easier for melee units to crawl up the board undetected to stage for charges.
