Congratulations to @lsoler.bsky.social who presented an excellent poster and flash talk at the #FSBI2026 symposium! Her single cell RNA sequencing results revealed how resistant and susceptible salmonids differ in their systemic immune responses to sea lice. 🐟🧪🧬🧑‍💻 @thefsbi.bsky.social

@danielruzzante.bsky.social reveals how close kin mark recapture can help to identify the population size of fishes, but may be biased if sampling is not done randomly and prior to juvenile dispersal! #SCAS2025

Why care about mussels? Though they might not seem that interesting on the surface, @timreganlab.bsky.social shows us at the Blue Health symposium at the University of Edinburgh why it's worth cracking open their shells, revealing some really cool mussel immunology and phylogenetics! 🦪😎🧬🧪

👀 another reference to Roslin Institute research here at the AQUA-FAANG conference! This time it's this plot by @clemencefraslin.bsky.social et al. 2022 showing QTL for Flavobacterium columnare disease resistance in Rainbow Trout! 🦠🌈🐟🧬

Great talk by Robert Mukiibi on day 3 of the final AQUA-FAANG meeting! Robert revealed the presence of a massive QTL for resistance to viral nervous necrosis disease in Seabass, with clear applications for improving resistance to this disease in aquaculture! 👩‍🌾🐟🧬🍽🧪
