it's really not hard to not play a game that uses gen ai in its development process. it's really not hard to not support bigoted creators with your money and time.

whereas online you can literally be who you want to be. stand by your values without having to compromise. i can't see it as anything but not truly believing in those values if you choose to continue engaging with that online.

i think when i see people online engage with things i find objectionable (gen ai, hp, etc.) it hurts more than it does irl there is usually some form of social pressure or conditioning that people fall victim to irl and while it doesn't absolve them of their actions it at least provides context

every company-wide meeting makes me dread the direction of my workplace and makes me consider quitting my job but then i remember how awful the job market is and that i'm practically stuck here unless i get lucky

it is strange.. i can only imagine that consistent exposure to anything unusual would make people be more open to the idea but i find that initial push to do so is only effective and genuine if it begins internally
