Ranked ballot enables me to vote for smaller parties w/o thinking I'm "wasting" my vote. e.g. in a riding that is heavily PC or Lib, why would I vote NDP or Green. But in a ranked ballot, more people would vote for those parties. It's a riding level vote. Not a prov/national one.

The PR advocates will be out in full force after this. I'm not one of them. FPTP is NOT a good representation of the "will of the people". But I do think there are better systems to capture voter intent. Every system will be flawed, but I'm a big supporter of ranked ballot voting.
