sadcat @saddercat.bsky.social · 18/01/2025I keep seeing people linking andraste & the maker to mythal/the evanuris and like, I honestly hope not because we've already got the black city, the blight, the tevinter gods, and the dwarves dreams, all linked back to the evanuris/the elves. Can we let the other races have some cool lore too guys 😭 100

sadcat @saddercat.bsky.social · 17/12/2024ok all my characters are goody two shoes but I'd have to say the kindest is a tie between Rook (just a good egg, gives money to beggars & pets all the animals) and Trevelyan (noble manners and a religious upbringing). Next is my Warden who is nice but kinda sassy, and finally my Hawke (even sassier) 000

They don’t bleed, they can’t get their feelings hurt, they can’t be betrayed because they are a collection of pixels and code and words and sound files. The game devs I’m lucky to work with are real people who deserve at least basic human respect. 205101411167

sadcat @saddercat.bsky.social · 28/11/2024I also must admit I'm slightly biased because my 'type' is almost always the one picked to be the straight option 😭 Hot, femme and kinda mean is like THE archetypical straight guy choice so I've been heartbroken so many times lmao (Morrigan & Miranda, I'm specifically looking at you 😪) 000
sadcat @saddercat.bsky.social · 28/11/2024I think it's also worth considering that if there are set preferences, gay people almost always end up with less options than others which is a shame. I know having less gay people reflects reality, but feels like that doesn't always need to apply in a fantasy world 100
sadcat @saddercat.bsky.social · 28/11/2024(That's not to say I feel entitled to it just bc I spent the money, ultimately I'm cool with whatever the writers decide, just explaining why I think it's becoming more popular to just have non-gender locked romances) 100
sadcat @saddercat.bsky.social · 28/11/2024The set preferences thing is a conundrum bc as a writer I totally get wanting characters to have their own identities, but as a player... I kinda DO just want that escapist fantasy. Esp as games are getting more expensive. Spending £70 to not have a romance I like ends up kinda disappointing 😪 100

![image of inquisitor tara trevelyan during the events of veilguard, she is standing with her hands pressed together in a prayer pose against her lips, eyes narrowed, seething, with an incredibly exhausted look on her face, as endras [rook] mercar watches from the foreground with only the side of their head showing.
the text above their heads read: "8 years later"
trevelyan is dressed in the grey and red shadow dragon casual wear, with the gauntlet-like inquisition prosthetic for her left hand. she has new scars criss-crossed on the side of her face, and she now wears her hair up in a bun, with a long set of bangs hanging over the left side of her face. rook is a tan elf with dark shaggy hair and a small scar on their lip, who is also dressed in the shadow dragon casual wear.
