Takara's 2002 Bowlingual claimed to translate dog barks. A collar microphone sent each bark to a handheld unit, which classified it as one of six emotional states and displayed a matching phrase. Its inventors won an Ig Nobel Peace Prize for “promoting peace and harmony between the species”.
