I've read a few comments from some recent converts from X that someone needs a minimum of 5K followers on Bluesky. I disagree with the POV. This community existed just fine when most people had follow/follow counts of 1 K. In short, follow who you want. I applaud those members who feel similar.

Neither candidate really addressed the group during the campaign. Trump did offer a policy to make tips tax-free, which benefitted gig workers, waiters, etc. Harris matched the proposal & that was about all. But neither really spoke to the plight of the working class.

What you offer as a rationale is minimal compared to what Bernie offered in 2016. I'm not a fan of Sanders, but his was a truly progressive agenda. Harris touched on these issues, but not the way Sanders did. The Harris campaign was all in on Woman's Choice, but she was failed by white women.

I was in the same place last year. I'm not telling anyone what they should do, but there are some wonderful people here who built this place. I believe it to be time well spent to get to know some of these folks rather than just adding followers. That said, I'm thrilled to see the migration from X.

Respectfully, Harris lost an election that she maybe had no chance of winning. But her efforts to reach working class voters were half-hearted. She spoke to making tips tax-free, but she never addressed 22M gig workers. She could have proposed a Bill of Rights for gig workers & federal regulations.

It was tough for me to leave all of my friends behind. I imagine you felt similar. The migration here for so many people must be a chore. I've seen new profiles that keep yapping about how many followers they had on X. No one really cares about it here. I don't want a large base of followers.

I hadn't seen the final numbers, but that's an amazing stat for an election many of us felt was the most important in recent times. It's really sad how so many people in this country can't be bothered. But when things go wrong, they won't shut up nor hold themselves accountable for their own apathy.
