Trip hop is such a weird “genre”. Tracks like “Mutual Slump” or “Organ donor” do not seem to me to have much in common with most Portishead or Tricky songs.

Most inspired shows either play up obnoxious traits or are intentionally limited in scope. The later I enjoy more, but it is not the same as 12+ episodes a year. In retrospect, it seems like a precious moment in time.

In a hotel and found episodes of No Reservations on the tv. I haven’t revisited the show much since Tony passed. I’m struck both by how out of time it feels now in 2026, and yet there still isn’t much tv like it.

I mostly finished Vampire Crawlers this week (just in time for Mina the Hollower 👀). I enjoyed Crawlers, the combo system feels very satisfying. I did feel like I could ignore half of the gold-sink systems, which was a bit odd.
