Björk’s raves are the stuff of legend. Can you imagine if she dropped in some of her most satisfying remixes, too? Here are two hours of her finest, mixed for the floor by Underworld, Masters at Work, Todd Terry, and more.

OK, but where will you get those? White label producers were finding ways to isolate tracks back in the 90s, and the results were strong enough to press on vinyl and shake the world's best systems. Easier than ever today. Food for thought.

Just go for it, upload it everywhere. White-label and bootleg mixes can really catch fire— and even when they don't, they can still live for ages on future DJs' thumbdrives. Never know where it'll hit, might as well have fun with it!

There’s also contemplative jazz and ambient from Jeff Parker, Ana Roxanne, Okonski, and Discovery Zone, loads of house and techno from horsegiirL, Lone, james k, Objekt, and Jump Source, and a stunning, Pavement-esque indie ballad by Chicago slack-rockers Friko. Enjoy!

The best songs of April feature new music from Rosalía, shoegaze from Kelela and Just Mustard, and a run of monster tracks by Slayyyter, Nine Inch Noize and Tiffany Day, who all feature in a piece I'll be publishing soon on the remarkable durability of indie sleaze. 🍓 My fave new artist of 2025 was Gelli Haha, aka Angel Abaya, who imagined herself the queen of the wind-up toys— a child’s plaything come to life. Now she’s back with “Klouds,” merging new wave & chillwave in a sugar-dizzying union of technicolor pop. RIYL: watching 80s Nickelodeon on acid ☎️

Yessss, it's one of the funnest and most inventive rock records I've heard this year! Wild how they manage to synthesize bits of every popular genre — it's clubby, it's punky, it's indie. Like 80s new wave through a 2025 lens.

This 2001 Moodymann 12” goes crazy. It cuts up the Detroit radio DJ Mojo’s famed ‘86 interview with Prince, chopping the questions to sound like an interview with Moody. The beat beneath is murky and hard-hitting, then shifts into a lighter, jazzier Rhodes flex. 🔥

Spending a lot of time lately with this little-known Stereolab side project from 1997, a collaboration between Tim Gane, Andy Ramsay, and the High Llamas' Sean O'Hagan. Released just a month before 'Dots and Loops,' it applies some of that album's best qualities to a 'library music' setting.

I only attended the Pitchfork Fest in Chicago once, in 2017, but I'm still saddened. The festival has been a focal point for a living, breathing community of fans and listeners in an era when disconnectedness has been the predominant cultural narrative. pitchfork.com/news/an-upda...

I'll be sincere about Pitchfork Fest, it was three supreme days of summer, a more perfect festival did not exist when it began. You watched bands, maybe you got a little fucked up, you hugged new friends, it was a happy, stressful, unforgettable time and place. Its loss will be a crater in my heart
