One time my wife and I went out to dinner at Nancy’s Hustle and Verlander and his wife were there and me and JV made eye contact during dinner from different tables and I pretended that it didnt happen but as my wife and were leaving JV reached up to give me knuckle bumps. I literally love JV.

I missed this cycle, but @jonronson.bsky.social ‘s book So You’ve Been Publicly Shamed is an excellent look at this sort of thing and changed the way I think about them! (I do think public shaming is appropriate in cases where we know the whole story, like politics and whatnot)

In college I had a roommate who would brew a pot of coffee at 11pm and let it cool down and chug the whole pot so he could stay up late to study or work on papers.
