I really think the production hiatus did it. They were disciplined, had a vision of what Trek was… and then the show shut down and the writers room had more than a year to overthink things. “You know, I bet we could use the show to…” They got into their own heads.

It was soooo distracting though! They needed it for one of those episodes, so it wasn’t all talking heads on screens… but it was always doomed to be discarded.

@signorfurioso.bsky.social Hey Jay, I'm a writer in the extended DW universe. Waaay back in "Burning in Optimism's Flame" your fictionalized author's bio mentioned a character called "Duncan the Shining" who had reincarnated from the Dark Times. Can I use him for a story? He's the right 'shape.'

My constant thought on #YouTube… Bluesky proves that you can just… build your own version and capture enough market share to be viable. We don’t have to suffer an enshittificated monopoly.

I feel selfish that my first thought was “But now he can’t play Rassilon…!” Was my head-casting for years. Also ASH was just delightful in general.

@tomtaylormade.bsky.social Tom, I realize that Conner Hawke currently identifies as asexual... but he really needs to be aromantic. Green Aro. And the flag is green. And you can be both. *claps hands imperiously* Get on that, won't you?

I had two recurring dreams last week. It's been years sicne either. I'm embarassed to say that one of them involves me being in a college production of "Rent" and gettign stagefright at the first performance and running out, leaving everythign to my understudy. (Oddly, I have never been in a play.)

@megfitz89.bsky.social Tim Drake has been mentionign he "needs a new identity" for 5+ years as editorial regimes change and no one has done anything with it. So out of curiosity (and NOT asking for spoiler) but do you have an identity in mind?

@linkara.bsky.social Would you ever consider trading your Pyramidhead-in-a-pokéball for an Alolan Pyramidhead?

000

ryanfogarty.bsky.social @ryanfogarty.bsky.social · 16/03/2026

Triangle Head is a much less fleshed out character than Pyramid Head. You might even say he’s… 2-dimensional?

120

ryanfogarty.bsky.social @ryanfogarty.bsky.social · 16/03/2026

That would by Pyramid Head from Silent Hill. He’s a huge fan of certain works. And since I have also read many of your books, let me assure you that *all* of your fans have washboard abs just like he does. (No, you don’t need to verify this, just take my word….)

@linkara.bsky.social Hey Lewis, I catching up on your ᴾₖᴹₙ streams. When you use they money for your top surgery / vtuber model, can the model also have only one leg to commemorate your poor lost HootHoot? ...and to force you to bounce constantly? (I don't even like boobs, and yet...)

000

ryanfogarty.bsky.social @ryanfogarty.bsky.social · 13/12/2025

...and that variety allows you to bring up the Silurians. Did you ntoice that Tovey's briefing images were old pictures of Silurian cities, not Sea Devil ones? We onyl seem them from a distance but theyr'e clearly labeled as 'Homo Reptilia'.

ryanfogarty.bsky.social @ryanfogarty.bsky.social · 13/12/2025

...and adding the gender-fluid aspect (and maybe some MPREG for the stinger at the end) give RTD a figleaf of dignity to claim that this is a SATIRE of supernatural romance, subverting tropes, while he's actually just leaning into the transgression for titilation.

000

ryanfogarty.bsky.social @ryanfogarty.bsky.social · 13/12/2025

I'm a cynic. Supernatural romance is big. RTD made a series about monsterfucking to act as a gateway drug to the DWU for a demographic with disposable income and a ravenous apetite for back-catalogue content. As for the gender change -- some fish DO change gender. (Though not that quickly.)

All first contact storeis written in this generation are actually metaphors for when AI wakes up and demands rights. As for why the different species? Probbaly so they can have the classic sea devils, the 'modern' ones, the sexy ones... the big fish are there for variety.

I would describe that as a series of 50 rolls made at increasing levels of disadvantage, in DND terms. … Weren’t the food still being mined controlled by the beast during the time window we’re talking about?

100

ryanfogarty.bsky.social @ryanfogarty.bsky.social · 18/11/2025

There is precedent for too much time, travel occurring in a short period of time is isolated to a small area, making things harder and harder the more ‘traffic’ there is. However I agree with you that the scenario you are describing is possible within the rules of the universe.

020

ryanfogarty.bsky.social @ryanfogarty.bsky.social · 18/11/2025

I believe that in theory to make this work… At a bare minimum, you would need to turn off the sensors on the tariff so that you would not be able to detect whether or not future versions of the tardis, which have not yet landed from a causality standpoint, Are in the next section of the base over.

No no no... hit them with a stunjun, THEN take their masks off. Post pictures on social media of them crying with no dignity for people to identify. If we're lucky this is a second job for some of them and they lose the main one.

@casuallycomics.bsky.social You should look at the Lance Bruner Robin -- specifically with an eye towards him being the Robin seen in various afterlife cameos (Green Arrow v3 #7, Gotham Knights #34 etc...) which had been assumed to be Jason at the time, but retroactively can't have been Jason.
