Migrated from the hell hole and found it much better for my mental health here. I live a quiet retired life in rural Suffolk, UK with Himself who is finally working part-time in the wind down to retirement, 12 yr old arthritic dog, 2 cats and 7 chickens.

This. The amount of disinformation, especially on social media, and funding for the pro-Brexit lobbyists and their lies will have made a significant difference. It was determined that the vote was unsafe, but, because it was only advisory, nothing could be done. 🙄🤦‍♂️

My Dad loved a kipper so we had them too. I've had them again from time to time as an adult and they certainly aren't as good as they used to be or at least not the supermarket ones. I remember Mum poaching fish in milk too.

Morning. Sorry for you and others with a poor night's sleep. Mine was pretty good but I had a busy day yesterday and the candle making was very therapeutic. Just been attempting to get wee sample from dog in the dark but she just lay on the grass 😤 Try again soon. Hygienist appt at dentist this pm 😢

Poor Nick. It's no wonder he's been struggling and in pain. Surely his high arches should have been picked up before now as surely it's something you're born with not like fallen arches which can happen over time 🤔 A month is a long time to wait for the orthotics.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. We rolled thin sheets of beeswax to make the candles. I now have lovely soft hands and 8 candles to put by in case we have the predicted power cuts this winter!

It doesn't look anything like the old 2CV. It's the wrong shape entirely. Just putting a similar style bonnet on it doesn't make it a 2CV. It's like the new Mini, nothing like the old and ditto Fiat 500. Why can't the car designers just be original.

Morning. Enjoy your day off. Early wake up with wandering elderly dog. All animals and me now fed. Off to the orthopedic vet with dog this am. At least she doesn't stress out with that vet surgery visit. Making beeswax candles at a craft session run by one of my friends this pm. Should be fun.

True. The generator is just a smallish one which we bought online fairly cheaply (about £150 or so) and we can plug in a kettle and charge up phones etc. Got it as we've lost power in the winter a few times. if you've got room to store one it's worth the investment. Have a camping Gaz ring too.

You poor thing. It's never just a cold if you feel that unwell and weepy. There are lots of horrible bugs around which present as a cold with same symptoms but make you feel far worse. Just take it easy and stay hydrated and if in any doubt ring the GP surgery or 111.

We bought a couple of paraffin hurricane lamps at the auction the other week! We have a diesel generator and plenty of wood for the logburner. I still have my pre Brexit store cupboard going which came into its own when we were put into Covid lockdown and couldn't get food delivered for 3 wks!

Can tell you're not well Cathy as you've a skipped a day! It's a grey Monday. Bit nippy when I went to let the hens out. Taking dog to the orthopaedic vet for her 6mth checkover. At least that doesn't stress her out like the usual vet visits do. Craft session this pm. Making beeswax candles. HAGD

We've lit the logburner in the lounge for the past few evenings but decided yesterday morning it's now time for the heating so turned it on. The large radiator in the lounge failed to warm up but after struggling with a stuck valve for a while OH got it working. Phew.

Sounds fascinating. Our builder neighbour who specialises in old house restoration says they changed the direction of floorboard placing in the 1600s from the 1500s. Part of those above the lounge go one way and the other half goes the other so bits have been added over the centuries.

Confirming what we already knew. Teresa May knew it and the court case said the referendum result was unsafe but still she and then Johnson persisted with it and wouldn't let Parliament discuss it. All those in positions of power at the time need to be brought before the courts and put in prison.

Still more expensive than home cooked but when he's tired after a working day that he's still adjusting to he can just heat one up and could batch cook at the weekend? Try not to worry too much.
