On this day I offer you a cute boy covered in kittens. Photo from my collection, no documented date/info.

Black and white photo of a young white man sitting on a lawn in bright sunlight, smiling broadly at the camera. He has a tortie kitten in his left hand white a tabby climbs up his shirt next to his neck, and two more kittens are wobbling around on his outstretched legs.

In certain niche corners of the psychiatry department (i like these corners by the way) Marx is to Freud what gravity is to quantum mechanics in the physics department.

Fanart of two characters from Honkai: Star Rail, Firefly and Stelle, sharing a passionate kiss. The scene is tender and close-up, with Firefly (right) gripping Stelle's outfit, and both visibly blushing and sweating. The art is soft-toned with muted colors and minimal background, creating an intimate atmosphere. The artist’s signature "korshokart" is visible near the middle.

Found myself thinking about this piece again. Inspired by Cattle Decapitation' Just another body

Digital painting in the tones of beige and black.
The charred figure portrayed is petrified in a crucified pose, but nothing is holding them down but their own body. imaginary arms detach from their pose to cover their face in quiet despair.

Doll thoughts tell me if this makes sense: The seduction of the doll is also the fear of the doll. It entices because it bends to your will. It moves, speaks, even breaks, on your command. You are its god. +

Little boys. 💕 Postcard from my collection, unsent, 1902.

Black-and-white photo of two long-haired kittens. One is white and ginger tabby, the other is a brown tuxedo tabby. They are sitting up on a brocade tablecloth looking adorably toward the camera. Text at the bottom reads “We is brothers”.

i wonder if the disillusionment with ai generated art and the disinterest in intentionality that it represents will lead to a revival of the author.

1. doll (doll as enemy, doll as ally, doll as the other, doll as self) 2. guy who is afraid of his desires and he wants to crush the universe in his fist about it. he also wants to be seen as a good person 3. guy who doesn't know what's real and what isn't 4. guy who wears a mask (metaphorically)

why is it so hard to find work that doesn't constantly have you do things that you kind of disagree with ideologically. is there no way to live in peace and harmony in this wretched world?

rereading this and wondering what this was like from julian's perspective. feels like paul is just trying to balance the scales a little bc his perception is that julian is more important/worthy/great than him. but this is all paul's perception. to julian this could just be his friend/crush -

A varied tone is important in fiction to avoid desensitising one's audience. If a work sets a given tenor and sticks to it without respite, the audience will stop feeling it. That's why it's important for media where everybody is miserable all the time to occasionally throw in some really weird sex.
