@mrjamesob.bsky.social I teach Y11 in a PRU. I did a bit of travel training recently, catching the bus from near school to the bus station in Wakefield. Two adults & 3 students, a total of 3 stops. One student had a pass so was free The cost of that RTN journey for 4 of us was TWENTY FOUR POUNDS

@mrjamesob.bsky.social I teach in alternative provision with teenagers who haven’t coped with the academic pressures of mainstream school. We need to take young people at the end of Y9 who won’t get GCSEs at a 4 but are creative & practical & train them in building professions.

We should fire a warming shot across their bows. Demand a minimum level of fact-checking and moderation, and hefty fines if they fail to comply. Treat them like we'd treat a publisher who consistently prints libel. If they refuse, block the sites.
