I noped out of Empire Strikes Back in its first theatrical run as Luke went to confront Vader. I’d already sat through the Wampa and crushed dude and the swamp scenes and Han tortured and C3PO disassembled. As Luke heads into the trap, I decided watching people play Galaxian was preferable. I was 6.

Hard agree. My line read of “… do you know that you are very strong?” got laughs for years from my kids and their cousins. It’s got suspense, hero vs. other, hero vs. reader, and eventually we find it’s hero vs. self.

Six years ago today. My sweet puppy girl.

I swear this is a not a peeled potato. A small white and brown puppy with wee triangular ears and the tiniest paws is resting in a bunch of fake autumn leaves.

I’m a grown trans person parent. My son is getting top surgery. If he uses his uterus he won’t be able to nurse. I used to get prolactin high and he won’t get that experience, assuming he has kids. It’s not your situation but I really do hear you. Especially about wanting them to be happy.

Uncle's friend as a kid was gay and my grandparents loved him like he was one of their own. He told me how much their support meant when he came out to them in the late-70's, especially when my gruff, WW2 vet grandpa would growl, "Shaddap!" at people being homophobic. Don't underestimate Shaddap!
