When we talk about the corrupt Supreme Court, we’re not just talking about Clarence Thomas getting paid off or Scalia doing billionaire junkets. John Roberts’ spouse getting paid by BigLaw firms would also be considered corrupt under federal law for other government employees.

They would’ve been roughly contemporaneous with Chaucer, but where Chaucer was a power-player who thrived in the red-hot center of things in London—snapping selfies with John of Gaunt, buried in Westminster Abbey—the Gawain poet lived off in the provinces, somewhere to the north.

I'm sorry, what? Shakespeare didn't write the play in Olde English. And Shakespeare didn't set the play in a time or place where the characters would've spoken Olde English. Eggers is free to make his choice, but how does this show "meticulous attention to detail"? It shows the opposite?
As befitting a filmmaker who is known for his meticulous attention to detail in capturing a time period, even when it comes to dialogue, sources say that this adaptation will feature actors speaking in Olde English.

A tragic romance, Shakespeare’s play told the ill-fated story of the titular young lovers who hail from two warring families, the Capulets and the Montagues, in the city of Verona, Italy.
