Blue haired ocs you say? 👀

He's just kinda on the generic side of JRPG protagonists. I enjoyed everyone else though. Nia and Zeke are my favorites.

So after nearly a month of playing, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is cleared from the backlog! A damn good game! The only sour point was the Spirit Crucible Elpys and the Phantasm boss in chapter 7. Other than that, a real good time! I would say the only character I don't like in this game is Rex.

Pneuma really is the 'I win' button isn't she?

Completely forgot to post these (I got them during my vacation convention weekend and it just slipped my mind lol). Thanks a lot, Ero! They look really good!

Pat @rpgnut.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

Phantasm might genuinely be the WORST boss fight I've ever seen in a JRPG. And I've played Final Fantasy XIII.

010

Pat @rpgnut.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

Also needing core skills to progress the story is bad game design.

010

Pat @rpgnut.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

So to my Xenoblade fanatics, please tell I'm not the only that hates Spirit Crucible Elpys in chapter 7 of Xenoblade 2. This dungeon is the fucking pits. It's so fucking confusing to navigate not to mention it just doesn't seem to fucking end.

I read that the rarest rare Blade is X2 is KOS-MOS. Wasn't expecting to pull her lol

Pat @rpgnut.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

It really shows just how much an abomination the Grimm are since they're basically demons in everything but name. Volume 5 though is still the absolute pits. Its so god damn boring! Nothing happens! And the Battle for Haven actually starts, most of it is just people standing around doing nothing!

000

Pat @rpgnut.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

When it came to fight choreography. I really liked in Volume 6 and 8 when RWBY went into the more horror aspect of the Grimm with the Apathy and the Hound in both respective volumes and I hope later seasons keep going in that direction.

One of the biggest problems I had with this show before was character growth and animation. The character growth is there, but very gradual. And the animation has gotten a lot better since V4. I think I was way too hard on it before. Monty Oum I think was just in a complete league of his own...

110

Pat @rpgnut.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

So I've spent the last week or so marathoning all of RWBY from seasons 1 through 8. And, I'm surprised that I came out liking 6, 7 and 8 quite a bit more than I did before. They all still have their issues, but they were much more enjoyable upon a second watch.

Just started chapter 6 in Xenoblade 2. So I think I have a pretty good guess as to who the main villain is. His design is villain 101.

Put on RWBY season 1 for some background noise a few hours ago while I did some quest and skill grinding in Xenoblade 2. Man, I miss when this show was good and actually looked good. Season 1 is a fun time.

Pat @rpgnut.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

The entire time I've been in this area, I've constantly thought how perfect this area would fit in Final Fantasy XIV. Looks like it came straight from Dawntrail or Shadowbringers.

Pat @rpgnut.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

Zeke is so stupid. 😂 I love him. What cracks me up the most is that he has the same stock sound effect as Mr. Krabs from Spongebob when he crab walks.

000

Pat @rpgnut.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

To my Xenoblade enthusiasts, are the DLC expansions necessary for going into Xenoblade 3? I'm nowhere near finished with Xenoblade 2 yet (a full week of 12 shifts will yield little progress in game progression) but want to know ahead of time if they are.

Out of everyone in the dub I've heard (those being being Poppi, Mythra, Pyra, Tora and Nia) Nia is my favorite. I love the Scottish accent they gave her. I don't care for anyone else though.

Say whatever you want about Xenoblade, but you're a fool if you deny the amount of effort and scale Monolith Soft gives the world of their games. It's really impressive what they can do with the hardware they're given.
