Phantasm might genuinely be the WORST boss fight I've ever seen in a JRPG. And I've played Final Fantasy XIII.

So to my Xenoblade fanatics, please tell I'm not the only that hates Spirit Crucible Elpys in chapter 7 of Xenoblade 2. This dungeon is the fucking pits. It's so fucking confusing to navigate not to mention it just doesn't seem to fucking end.

So I've spent the last week or so marathoning all of RWBY from seasons 1 through 8. And, I'm surprised that I came out liking 6, 7 and 8 quite a bit more than I did before. They all still have their issues, but they were much more enjoyable upon a second watch.

Just started chapter 6 in Xenoblade 2. So I think I have a pretty good guess as to who the main villain is. His design is villain 101.

Put on RWBY season 1 for some background noise a few hours ago while I did some quest and skill grinding in Xenoblade 2. Man, I miss when this show was good and actually looked good. Season 1 is a fun time.

The entire time I've been in this area, I've constantly thought how perfect this area would fit in Final Fantasy XIV. Looks like it came straight from Dawntrail or Shadowbringers.

Zeke is so stupid. 😂 I love him. What cracks me up the most is that he has the same stock sound effect as Mr. Krabs from Spongebob when he crab walks.

Monolith Soft might genuinely be one of the best companies in gaming right now.

By the by, Xenoblade 2's battle themes are fucking incredible. Good lord, I love every single one.

To my Xenoblade enthusiasts, are the DLC expansions necessary for going into Xenoblade 3? I'm nowhere near finished with Xenoblade 2 yet (a full week of 12 shifts will yield little progress in game progression) but want to know ahead of time if they are.

Say whatever you want about Xenoblade, but you're a fool if you deny the amount of effort and scale Monolith Soft gives the world of their games. It's really impressive what they can do with the hardware they're given.

Went on a walk through the convention center after the convention was finished. When nothing is going on, it's depressingly quiet. Really hits hard that yeah. Unfortunately, con is over. Time to get back to the daily grind.

@matsuricon.org 2026 was a great time as always. But damn man. The post con is always the worst part.

I've been a Dragon Ball fan for years and I only just realized that Cell's ability to absorb people for their energy into his biomass is the perfected evolution of the energy absorption ability that was built into Androids 19 and 20.

Currently doing my replay of Tales of Vesperia. While Velvet and Luke might be my favorite protagonists in the series, Yuri and Flynn are probably my favorite duos.

I think sometimes it's necessary to take a leave of absence from a series to truly realize how much you love it. Because God damn, have I rediscovered my love Tales after almost a four or five year absence.

I know some people don't like Luke as a character, but he's such a good protagonist. He's a supposed amnesiac who spent seven years essentially being held captive in his own home and then gets shit from everyone when he doesn't know anything about the outside world.

120

Pat @rpgnut.bsky.social · 20/06/2026

Been a big Tales kick recently thanks to my recent run through of Arise. Not all of these titles are winners, but damn I forgot how much I enjoyed this series. I really hope the remaster project includes titles never released outside of Japan.

Pat @rpgnut.bsky.social · 20/06/2026

Did a tierlist for the openings of all the mainline Tales games tonight with @jake0968.bsky.social! Here are the results! A lot bangers!

Now that I can finally stream Vita stuff over OBS, figured I'd show Tales Lia! 🤭 This is where she got her blue and green hair from before I made it in FFXIV! Her job is Thief here!

030

Pat @rpgnut.bsky.social · 16/06/2026

So I found out how to capture footage directly from my Vita! Haven't figured out to get sound though. Might need a jack splitter for that since I have a laptop. So to celebrate that achievement, here's a small attempt at a combo with Kohaku in Tales of Hearts R! I suck at doing combos in Tales 😅

020

Pat @rpgnut.bsky.social · 16/06/2026

How did I not notice the mistake here for two days!? Kohaku is my favorite Tales GIRL

010

Pat @rpgnut.bsky.social · 15/06/2026

This game has held a bad connotation for me for the last several years and I think it's time to put that behind me. 🙂

010

Pat @rpgnut.bsky.social · 15/06/2026

So I've been playing Tales of Arise over the last two or three weeks to see how I felt about the game 5 years after my first playthrough. C tier. Good game, not a good Tales game.

010

Pat @rpgnut.bsky.social · 14/06/2026

I came to the realization this week that my favorite Tales game is probably Kohaku from Tales of Hearts. I love her design and she's so fun to play as in that game. I also realized I want to get a cosplay commission of Lia wearing her outfit done at some point.
