I’m not LGBTQ. I certainly don’t claim to be able to appreciate things from the perspective of a someone who is. However, I feel compassion, decency and simple fairness is under threat. I’ll not stop fighting for that. But we are heading in the wrong direction daily.

I’m in my fourties’ and I find it shocking that was during my lifetime. I also worry that I may also have seen empathy, compassion and equality reach its peak during my lifetime. Hopefully not, but I’m increasingly more pessimistic.

I’m back from Finland in two weeks and not expecting anything more than low level disappointment. I’ll always be shocked at how ‘grubby’ everything has become. England especially looks a lot poorer than it did.
