Outstanding show of solidarity from Turkish side Konyaspor in their friendly against the Palestinian national team. They showered the pitch in teddies to be donated to children and suspended the match at 89:59 with a message stating 'Until Palestine is free, the match has been postponed'.

Why did Bryson leave the meeting? Who was he talking to in the bar? Are journalists going to investigate??

The far-right online site 'The Liberal' is shamelessly grifting off the residents of Garvaghy Road. None of the monies raised are going towards the residents. It's going to the owner of the online site Leo Sherlock. He was quick enough to support the Coolock/loyalist rioters in Belfast. Don't donate

They seen the relaxed, communal atmosphere on the Garvaghy Road last night and have responded. Problem is when you bring the various factions of Loyalism together it doesnt always go well 😬

The residents of Garvaghy Road and their supporters spent another day in high spirits today. With plenty of food and hot drinks and of course some amazing live music. They settle in for another night of peaceful dissent. Fair play to them all, they're legends ✊

Huge respect and admiration for the Garvaghy Road residents. While this initial part of the battle has been won, it is not over, we must ensure they continue to have our full support in the coming days and weeks. ✊️🇮🇪

I am filled with rage for Garvaghy Road residents today. 100% stand with them. I can't believe they are being put through this again. And for what? So some men can force everyone back into violence, because their egos demand it? Can we stop going along with the farce that this is 'tradition"?

Was refused entry to the Ladies FAI cup final for ‘trying to make a political statement’ by wearing this jersey. Had to get the wonderful Shelbourne club SLO John Brennan to sort it out. Incase anyone was worried if the FAI couldn’t embarrass themselves any further.

Political Unionism, at the behest of Bryson et al, has picked at the sorest sectarian scab of the last 30 years, to create a festering wound. Utterly depressing considering the glimpse of the future we had during the Fleadh. They only wish to drag us back. Solidarity with the residents of Garvaghy.

90 years ago today, 30,000 people gathered on Holbeck Moor in Leeds to stop British fascist leader Oswald Mosley and his Blackshirts holding a rally. My grandad was there to help stop the fascists. I was so proud to speak at the unveiling of the plaque commemorating that historic day.
A plaque explaining:

The Battle of Holbeck Moor

On 27 September 1936, 30,000 people assembled to prevent the leader of the British Union of Fascists, Sir Oswald Mosley, and his Blackshirts, from holding a rally.'They shall not pass.'

it is also extremely revealing that, a generation later, the Orange Order are still intent on marching down a road where they are unwelcome. they have learnt nothing, they have matured not a jot, every day of peace and tranquility has been entirely wasted on them #garvaghy #drumcree #speirgorm

Never been more clearer that political unionism have absolutely no coherent vision for the future of the six counties in terms of actual social or economic policies, let alone one that would appeal to anyone outside of their tent. The Garvaghy Road is the limit of their ambition

Also people, often outsiders or naïve, who are suggesting people just suck it up and let 35 men walk down the road, you are missing a context of decades of marches being deliberately routed through Catholic areas. Causing so much historical violence and contributing to the outbreak of the Troubles.

I cannot ever forget how the marching bands refused to be silent, as requested, going past the house where the mother of those three murdered boys took refuge in the weeks after her unthinkable loss. A small detail that exposes everything this march is for.

The thing is, an Orange Order member who murders a Catholic is still allowed to be an Orange Order member. If he goes to the funeral of a Catholic he gets expelled from the Orange Order. Who in their right mind would stand by and let that group walk down their road?

Drumcree: NI secretary of state calls for 'compromise' as Orange Order march blocked by protesters
The march, which in the 1990s sparked some of the most serious disorder in Northern Ireland's history, will go ahead for the first time in nearly 30 years after a series of courtroom challenges.

For anyone still unsure of why the Garvaghy Road residents are so opposed to this 'march', this moment of coat trailing triumphalism by Paisley, Trimble & the OO & Loyalist paramilitaries led by Billy Wright, ensured this beleagured community were determined they would do everything to prevent it.
