This is the second worst instance of an industry shattering media conglomerate being born this year behind Glitch doing merch drops and putting Digital Circus in theaters

Thanks to your support, I'm now eligible to become a YouTube Partner (pending a review of my channel and application) This is NOT the same thing as applying for ad revenue. I'm still ~100 subscribers and 1k watch hours short of eligibility. But this is a really promising sign :)

I'm so insanely Lubbapilled this innocuous line that was written for the express purpose of teaching the player about co-op is making me sad because what if she actually doesn't realize how much we appreciate her because her trauma leaves her with lingering feelings of doubt and self deprecation :(

Lubba says "Wish I could give you more help than just cheering from the sidelines..."

One year since Galaxy 2's Switch port means one year since the second Rosalina's Storybook- I'm overdue for a reread! If you missed out on last year's port, or you're a fellow Lubba fanatic, I have two in-depth analysis videos covering every plot & character detail Nintendo introduced (links below)

On this day one year ago, Nintendo released the Super Mario Galaxy 2 remake for Nintendo Switch, which utilized the game engines of Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury to give the Wii classic that wonderful HD feel!

The game will use a mix of Odyssey's and Bowser Fury's engine (in graphics and textures) to give it that wonderful HD feel.

No one ever talks about the major update prior to this in which Super Mario Galaxy 2 randomly reimplemented the Bowser death graphic that was replaced with a generic fade-to-black upon the port's launch, which is honestly way funnier (This did not apply to Galaxy 1 btw)

Not much to say about Super, it is simply more Metroid. I clearly liked it given I beat the thing in all of two days but I found myself super turned around and more frustrated than usual... probably best if I take a small hiatus before I jump into Fusion and Dread

Oohhh I get it they called it Super Metroid because the baby metroid from Return of Samus became super strong when it grew up

The operation was completed successfully! Clear time: four hours and two minutes (not counting instances where I utilized save states and rewind)

I like that they created two rows of space and left one empty instead of putting the four soundtracks in a square grid, really transparent about how much the dripfeed model sucks

Funniest moment of my Metroid marathon thus far was booting up Super Metroid and realizing I had apparently gotten fourty minutes into the game in 2019 before dropping it entirely... I have no recollection of this

Super Metroid is not going as smoothly as the previous games ☹️ There's no possible way that learning the bomb jump exploit was the intended solution for leaving the Kraid area this game is actively trying to softlock me 😭

"But you participate in society" ah argument People rely on YouTube for revenue, companies force employees to use Google services. Even then, "&udm=14" and other browsers exist. Nobody needs to buy a new game, and if it makes money for a company that uses genAI, that's explicit support of genAI

010

Spooxie 👻😱 @roxieproxy.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

See that's where we disagree cause I feel like frontloading the presentation with ports works. I'm already committed to watching so I'm paying attention to games I haven't seen or heard much about, and if it's truly eye watteringly boring, I know the real shit is just around the corner

100

Spooxie 👻😱 @roxieproxy.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

The thing is, no matter where they place the fluff relative to the big announcements people want, the fluff will still be there. The fluff arguably is the point, the reason every Direct isn't an email or Twitter thread like people retort is because Nintendo games bring eyes to niche games and genres

120

Spooxie 👻😱 @roxieproxy.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

I really like Smash and Shroom lol. I was one of those Nintendo fans when I was like, 13? And I was never this annoying about the presence of other series and companies?? I just cannot relate in any capacity to someone who isn't willing to try other things *and* makes it everybody else's problem

120

Spooxie 👻😱 @roxieproxy.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

To be blunt I think complaining about pacing in a commercial is superfluous, announcements appear in the order they do based on projected sales and how much third parties pay Nintendo It's all about what there is to play, and the September Direct simply had the games

140

Spooxie 👻😱 @roxieproxy.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

It was a little port heavy but anybody who was expecting third-party developers to stop supporting the Switch 2 with games that initially missed the Switch because "old games aren't hype" is lowkey dumb

150

Spooxie 👻😱 @roxieproxy.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

Ravenous cured my fear of being bad at the Metroidvania genre with its sheer aura and it was only my number three most hype announcement behind Persona 4 Revival/Persona 6 and Kirby and the World Beyond, truly biblical levels of greed in the Nintendo fandom

1210

Spooxie 👻😱 @roxieproxy.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

I'm still seeing negative receptions to the September Direct which is absolutely insane?? Metroid Ravenous had such a strong presence that Dread completely vanished from retailers, so much unprecedented hype for a series that never gets it and a slow first 25 minutes nullified that for you❓

Honestly not sure which game I prefer. Samus Returns is a far beefier game with a lot of abilities/QoL features and puzzles that I really enjoyed, but Zero Mission is such a tightly designed experience with little (if any) filler/repetition and a more cohesive map that I preferred for exploration
