Failure Narratives Beyond Redemption looks at how we talk about failure. I turn to twentieth-century US American, Italian, and Polish examples of cultural production for alternatives to the pervasive narrative of failure as a way to success or moral victory.

The book shuttles back and forth between the mid-twentieth century and today, looking at literature and film from the United States, Poland, and Italy and how it can help us think through politics of failure today.

Failure is everywhere these days, but we still talk about it as a step to success. I argue that we need to think about failure beyond the redemptive lens that dominates the discourse today.

My book on failure will be out in April! In Failure Narratives Beyond Redemption, I look at how we talk about failure in public discourse, as well as across film, literature, and performance.

The fifth (and first bilingual) edition of the O'Czytani Polish Literary Festival is a wrap! We packed the house in Biblary's HQ in Inchicore for a meeting with Mariusz Szczygieł and a concert by Cezariusz Gadzina&band. Polish culture is part of multicultural Dublin.
