Exceptional day in Merlin College in Galway, dedicated to Paweł Strzelecki (1797-1873), a Pole who tirelessly worked during the Great Famine to help Irish children survive. Almost 100 students took part in the competition about Strzelecki’s life and deeds. strzelecki.ie

Following the DFAT's initiative, each of 26 counties is to be paired with an EU country during Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the EU. We visited our partner, County Donegal & met with local authorities, art & community leaders to implement this brilliant idea.

MU were delighted to host Conversation on Campus, a discussion and Q&A session, on the current state of the War in Ukraine, and the wider ramifications for European defence and security.
A group of seven people stand together in formal attire against a blue backdrop that reads "Maynooth University." They are posing for a group photo, with some smiling. The backdrop includes floral arrangements on either side.

More than 120,000 Poles have found their second home in hospitable Ireland. As November 11th nears — the Polish Independence Day — they gather in many places to celebrate freedom. Last year, I was happy to take part in the celebration in Cork; this year, in Athlone.
