Early work on a new rig for next #VRChat avatar/Blender model.

Have you ever wondered what Sally's ground combo would look like in a combat action platformer? Well, that's been on my mind recently- that and button mapping- so I'm making some reference poses to feel out how some scenarios might work! Stay tuned!

Sketchbook Sunday! Wanted to draw my Castlevania OC, Arnella. I really like drawing her, and I want to explore more acrobatic poses with her fighting style! #LamentOfInnocence #Castlevania #Traditionalart #Sketchbook

I still can't get over how Blender can give me the power to do a complex rigging, compared to what I does in Maya in the way back 💀 Why Blender does give my life so much easier lmao #Sonic #Eggman #b3d #Blender #3D #rigging #WIP

It's important to have very good concept art so your production artists know what style to match. Case in point this evocative drawing from our creative director.

A finished alien-looking demonschool boss, all purple and pink, with a giant head and tentacles and things that surround the playfield.

A sketch that looks like a 5 year old did it showing the same scene, with a goofy head saying "I'm huge" where the boss should be.

Ok, so I gave the mannequin a little paint job and worked on a basic run cycle the run speed is set to 4m/s, which is a lot of ground for someone so small so she looks frantic here! I'll keep at it until I find something that fits Sally's stride, whatever that is lol, enjoy!

I cannot yet commit to a final design or full-on model build for Sally. Still, I will need a custom stand-in for Sally's body for scaling and key posing certain actions, like crouching, so I put some time in this afternoon to produce my prototype Sally mannequin!

After a few months of tutorials I'm finally confident enough to start prototyping mechanics for that Sally game I mentioned last Year (twitter)! I See the gameplay as a mid-paced action platformer where Sally can run and jump off walls. I'm using Prince of Persia as a starting ref what do you think?
