I won't be doing voice work for people and work on my projects possibly for a day or two. I've come down with a bug.

So I watched special, it will say it's miles better than AEG. The animation is really nice, the story was alright, the voice cast sure sounded like they had fun doing it.

An honest-to-goodness City Hunter reference in Daemons of the Shadow Realm? This show knows ball.

A reference to leaving a message on a chalkboard at Shinjuku Station, specifically the letters "XYZ"

City Hunter, which had a common trope of using the chalkboard at Shinjuku Station to contact the main characters Ryo and Kaori by writing the letters "XYZ"

The song "Chance" was another one I thought would be good for the magic buffers scene. The clip and audio got a little out of sync in one part but made it funny in editing where we have the owl hooting in sync with the tune. Same for Thomas' whistle shortly after. (2/?)

So I made a few more City Hunter music inserts for Magic Railroad. Only chose ones I thought would work or sounded very fitting for the scenes given. This one features the song "Never Go Away" (1/?)

I did do a version of this, but with the JP dub instead. To add a little creative license, I customised the subtitles to make Diesel 10 a little more threatening as well as lowering the pitch in his voice.

Today, February 26, marks the 40 year anniversary of City Hunter! Although it’s beloved throughout Asia and Europe—particularly France, where it’s known as Nicky Larson—it didn’t catch on in the US. We didn’t really get it until after its time. It’s only recently we got all the anime. Manga, not yet
