While most identified HFRs recommended delirium and/or cognitive assessment, there was considerable variation in methods of assessment and documentation. Greater standardisation in data items and their collection could improve international comparability and patient care.

No. This study does not show that drinking champagne could reduce your risk of cardiac arrest. It shows that many things can predict your chances of cardiac arrest. Unsurprisingly, this includes the amount of champagne you drink, which is doubtless a marker of wealth.

These “Frailty Teams” that are being developed and deployed up and down the country actually have a huge amount of expertise in caring for older people AND their families. The first thing they do is usually to listen to the person and find out what they are thinking and hoping.

It’s about finding the right answer for each individual. For some people (old or young) an admission to hospital is absolutely the right thing to offer. But for others, the option to receive their care and medical or therapy treatment closer to (or in) their home is invaluable. #Frailty #MedSky
