Playing RE7. I don't know why I waited so long to play. It's so good. The setting and characters make for such an amazing RE experience. Excited to check out Village before jumping into Requiem

Image of Arp 78, also known as NGC 772 and NGC 770, from Halton Arp's Atlas of Peculiar Galaxies (1966). In the original catalog it was in the category: Spiral galaxies - Small, high surface brightness companions. Source
A grainy, black and white image of a nearly face-on spiral galaxy. Appearing somewhat like an aerial view of a hurricane, the galaxy's spiral arms swirl around a bright center. The curling arms are defined by dark dust lanes. While the arms in the right half of the galaxy are somewhat poorly defined, in the left of the galaxy, one overdeveloped spiral arm curves clockwise from about 6 o'clock to about 11 o'clock. Since this arm flattens out near its end, in contrast to the rounder right half, the overall shape of the galaxy resembles a paisley. To its right, near the center, is its small companion galaxy, seen as a fuzzy oval. The black background of space is filled with many white dots which are stars.

SPOOKY SPACE PICTURES FOR HALLOWEEN 🎃🌌
As the name implies, this reflection nebula associated with the star Rigel looks suspiciously like a fairytale crone. Formally known as IC 2118 in the constellation Orion, the Witch Head Nebula glows primarily by light reflected from the star. The color of this very blue nebula is caused not only by blue color of its star, but also because the dust grains reflect blue light more efficiently than red. A similar physical process causes Earth's daytime sky to appear blue.A composite image of a pulsar wind nebula which strongly resembles a ghostly purple hand with sparkling fingertips, set against a black, starry backdrop.

X-ray observations by Chandra and IXPE reveal that the shape of this pulsar wind nebula strongly resembles a human hand, including five fingers, a palm and wrist. The bright white spot near the base of the palm is the pulsar itself.

The three longest fingertips of the hand-shape point toward our upper right, or 1:00 on a clock face. There, a small, mottled, orange and yellow cloud appears to sparkle or glow like embers. This orange cloud is part of the remains of the supernova explosion that created the pulsar. The backdrop of stars was captured in infrared light. Credits: X-ray: NASA/CXC/Stanford Univ./R. Romani et al. (Chandra); NASA/MSFC (IXPE); Infrared: NASA/JPL-Caltech/DECaPS; Image Processing: NASA/CXC/SAO/J. SchmidtA nebula appearing like a “face” with two “eyes” visible in the center.Active regions on the sun combined to look something like a jack-o-lantern’s face. The active regions in this image appear brighter because those are areas that emit more light and energy. They are markers of an intense and complex set of magnetic fields hovering in the sun’s atmosphere, the corona.

You know, you see images like this and sometimes it's easy to forget just how incredible it is that we can observe these objects at all. Like, that shit is UNFATHOMABLY far away. And we get to see it. And it's also UNFATHOMABLY huge, and yet looks so tiny. The universe is incredible Ps I'm stoned

The whole premise of the Biden administration after the chaos of Trump 1.0 was that Biden would be boring and we could move on with our lives. Well, I guess (the collective) we got bored with basic, competent governance after 4 years.
