I finally finished my embellished hanging display setup for @soengery.bsky.social ‘s plaque!! I love them, they’re so friend shaped

Your labor as an artist matters and you should be compensated fairly. Yes, I’m aware that publishers aren’t endless money machines, but there is great pay disparity between creators and if we want a more sustainable an equitable comics business, that has to change.

These ocs are different cos some of them are very old and I made videogame versions of them. But for other stories I have no idea what the main characters look like (so then I end up only drawing this cast. Oops)

It reminds me of recovering from tonsillectomy where if you don’t eat you may throw up but eating is so painful it feels impossible I know writing will help but I’m so rusty it hurts

I don’t find anything as fulfilling as writing but I’ve been struggling with grief and burnout so much it makes engaging with anything I love feel impossible. I haven’t been able to draw or write or read in months. Creating feels overwhelming and despairing and yet everything else feels meaningless

Sitting here thinking about how fairytales follow patterns and feature a lot of repetition and I wonder if it is because it makes things easier to remember if the plot is basically the same action 3 times but with copper, silver, and then gold before something different happens and then cue moral
