Honestly there's a deep moral rot in *all* of America and it doesn't get better until people who think they're good people face up to the facts of American cruelty. As far as I can tell, that won't happen, and it will only get worse. This is a country that could never even give up slavery.

Libraries belong to all of us. They are places where people can encounter books they might never have found on their own, follow their curiosity, and make up their own minds. Supporting them is one small but meaningful way to protect that freedom.

Today is Joe Kubert's birthday. I did a stack of short backups in the war books Joe edited back at the beginning of my career and each job was an education. Joe would correct my storytelling, pencils, inks as I turned the work in. This page, he pretty much just totally re-inked :) Thanks, Joe ❤️

Happy 72nd Birthday to Ruby Bridges, who at the age of 6 desegregated the New Orleans public schools. She’s younger than 30 senators and our last two presidents—and only 7 years older than Barack Obama. The past isn’t past.

She was only six years old. In 1960, Ruby Bridges helped desegregate an all-white elementary school in New Orleans, escorted by federal marshals. That little girl turns 72 today. Happy Birthday, Ruby Bridges. ♥️ #SheShed #VivaHerAlliance
