Indeed. The show itself is under-appreciated. It seemed, and was, corny and silly, but in its time it spoke to a large swath of America. And it never demeaned nor talked down to it's audience. The music was first rate, and Roy Clark was a musical monster.

I agree, about both. I started Reacher on your recommendation. Thought it was kinda dumb and formulaic. But by the end of Ep1, I was hooked. Neagley seamlessly continues the Reacher universe and has been just what I needed while down sick. Not great TV, but compelling and entertaining TV.

The great thing about this video is not the tremendous performance by Aretha, she was routinely awesome. It's Carole's near-orgasmic joy at being serenaded by Aretha at the Kennedy Center Honors, with a song that she wrote for Aretha all those years ago. It's a magical place, it must be protected.
