This is mildly strange. I rescanned my apartment today with my vacuum cleaner, and it has suddenly detected an entire room behind my closet wall (top right) that doesn't actually exist. Where did you come from mysterious invisible hole in my wall

I really like this mural they have up in downtown Houston. She looks pretty even from far away up on the freeway.

You know, honestly, more than monetary donations, if somebody worked at a company that had access to a lot of 18 terabyte and larger hard drives and could talk to us, that's where we are really suffering. The internet archive has no special priority in buying hard drives and those things are insane.

Congratulations Skyroot on a successful maiden launch. Not going to lie I was a massive doomer on this but they've proved me wrong. Time for them to teach ISRO something about rocketry I suppose, as surprising as it may seem.

A very intriguing result: the discovery of a supermassive black hole (SMBH) in the early Universe that seems to have formed before its galaxy. Still a lot of work to do to understand it, but this is an important step to understanding how SMBHs (more than ~1 million x the mass of the Sun) form. 🧪

The US Army conducted live human bioweapons testing on conscientious objectors, many Seventh-Day Adventists, in Operation Whitecoat, which was sold to them as developing bioweapon defenses. It was also to figure out exactly how much of an agent was required to infect a human.

A Consent Statement (1955) for one of the Operation Whitecoat experiments at Fort Detrick for Q Fever. In it, the statement lays out in plain language that they were be infected with a bacteria Coxiella Burnetti, which cause Q Fever, by breathing it in the air and he will be sick and be given treatment. All the names are redacted.

Watching all these drone delivery platforms that are popping up around the city. Feels kinda weird I dunno. Will have to see how cheap deliveries are and what's the miss rate. It's different companies and drone models too, so it's not just one tech company pushing it everywhere. This has legs.
