On Tyler's new podcast, Screenage Wasteland Movie Draft, we draft our favorite films - in this case, Tom Cruise films! @romonacomet.bsky.social and @rafstitt.bsky.social do way better on the trivia than I do, but it was a ton of fun. www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdXS...

The Maria Menoudos jump scare at Cinemark gets me every time.

Daughter watched Practical Magic with me tonight, since we’re going to the sequel on Sunday. She seemed bored with the first twenty mins or so but by the end she was completely invested. “That’s how you end a movie!” I love my mini me. 😆

Watched The Challenger explode as a young kid, had to grasp the effects of Columbine as a senior in hs and then experienced 9/11 several years later. Now it feels as though trauma is normalized and it happens in the news every day. All we can do is try to take care of ourselves & others.

At the Outer Banks for a week and still locked in to the Lindsay Clancy trial.

The End of Oak Street was a fun journey. Loved the 80s homages and just felt like the kind of movie I used to watch in the summers when I was a kid. Really enjoyed it.

Donald Trump is obsessed with Taylor Swift. It’s not only creepy but shocking because she’s not a ten year old.

Brand New Day was probably the best Spider-man so far. So enjoyable. The story was great and the cast chemistry is perfection. Loved it.

Rewatched all three MCU Spider-Man movies with my daughter (her first time watching). Now we’re seated for Brand New Day. Three kids and I’m glad one still likes to do things with me. 😝

Wonder if I can get Hamish Linklater to sign my Widow’s Bay poster in September -“I signed this with my blood, feces and semen.” Too much?

In San Antonio for Spacecon. Leaving today and at a cute diner for breakfast before heading to the airport. Two Knicks fans in full gear walk in to sit at the counter near us. I applaud their bravery! 😂

The worst part about breakout horror movies are the insufferable articles by tourists proclaiming HORROR IS BACK! like most weekends last year didn't have horror in the top 5, or three different horror movies that cleared $300M+ worldwide, gleaning 1/3 of last year's Oscars. Horror is doing GREAT.

Don’t let the name turn you off of this movie. The Sheep Detectives was fun as hell and more poignant than so many recent films. I cried. A lot. Go see it.

Don’t try and tell me this was taken out of context either. He’s shown who he is a multitude of times. He. Doesn’t. Care.

Sitting in a DQ with my daughter and a guy is on his phone (ofc it’s speakerphone) talking about making a movie? Or something of that nature. The guy asks the person on the phone “do you think I’m a good director?” And there’s a long pause. Then I hear “you’re not BAD.” 🤨

Ohio may be a lot of things but we voted for weed and abortion rights. 🤷‍♀️ (and yes Republicans are currently trying to find ways to overturn the will of the people on both issues.)

SINNERS was simply the best film last year. Best film on every level I've seen in a very long time. I know Ryan Coogler will get his Best Director / Best Picture win one day. Can't wait to see what he does next. #filmsky #Oscars
