This is how we (and everyone) had milk when I grew up in the 90s, including the jug! Today it's less common, esp the higher up the socioeconomic ladder you go.

This reminds me of that KinnPorsche fic but also: took this pic on a rooftop dexk today, how utterly gorgeous, I love this tree

I am very jealous, last time I was in the US and NY was four years ago which is so very much too long. Are there still fannish brunches hangs? Are we all too old for that? Also - recs for cool/new stuff to do in the city would be appreciated!

NYC friends! Marina (@sabrina-il.bsky.social, also on DW, AO3 etc) is going to be in NYC in late Aug to early Sept, and is looking (as we all always are) for fannish folks to hang out with. If you're in the area and might be open to company from abroad, give a sign so she can ping you 😊

Me with Green Day's Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) because of ER's Jeannie and Scott Ansphaugh (which is about where I am in my rewatch...)

I voted in the primaries today and it's amazing how many good candidates there were and how hard it was to narrow them down to just a few votes. I am so pleased with the final list, and hope that as many of them as possible end up with parliamentary seats www.ynetnews.com/article/synm...

You GREW these?? Dang

110

roga @roga.bsky.social · 04/07/2026

Wow and now the same plotline is being referenced in the first episode of the Legally Blonde prequel Elle. I guess it was way more formative than I imagined

I didn't have that model specifically but no reason not to trust a Samsung! I've had both Samsung and LG smart TVs (and other electronics), both good brands.

Gotta say I'm so used to HR meaning one thing at work and a very different thing on bluesky, this might just be the first time I've seen it actually appear as human resources on bluesky, very disorienting ha

030

roga @roga.bsky.social · 01/07/2026

Ohhh so it's not to select the platform, just to name it. Okay that makes more sense lol (and yes absolutely meaningless)

010

roga @roga.bsky.social · 01/07/2026

As someone who works for an HR & Payroll platform, I am *so* curious: this is something you're consulted and asked to vote on as employees?? This type of thing is so often just a management decision

Life update from a few days ago! roga.dreamwidth.org/523562.html Still v weird for bluesky to be completely public so not really updating stuff here, maybe irrationally. I *will* update when It Actually Happens though soooo sometime within the next few weeks 🫣

roga @roga.bsky.social · 26/06/2026

Did not expect to encounter that particular plotline so much this year lol

020

roga @roga.bsky.social · 26/06/2026

Omg I have arrived at S2E20 of my ER rewatch and Doug Ross is watching Days of Our Lives and commenting on how much Marlena's personality has changed ever since she got possessed. Just casual scenes of George Clooney watching Diedre Hall on TV lol @akaharriet.bsky.social thinking of you

250

roga @roga.bsky.social · 25/06/2026

Ooh question! Can you recognize them from afar from body language and how they look/move/dress, or do you need to be close enough to hear then speak? (obvs either way you won't recognize 100% of cases... but curious)

You better belive I'm fwding your recs to friends as well lol

110

They definitely are, I see now! I started watching in season 4 and then caught up on seasons 1-3 through reruns, so my first loves were season 4 plots and characters. I wonder if the focus actually does shift between those seasons... guess I'll find out in the next few weeks lol

I don't think I even knew growing up that this was The Mark Show! I discovered fanfic via a Carter/Anna (S4) website that had a section for "fan fiction" and that was all I cared about, Mark was just boring background. And here I am now! It is great fun.

100

roga @roga.bsky.social · 17/06/2026

(When I was a kid, my favourite characters were Carter and Doug and Carol. Now I still love them, but also really love Mark and Susan and Benton, all of whom I simply did not care about as a teen.)

roga @roga.bsky.social · 17/06/2026

Ever since Netflix put up ER a few days ago I have been living in a mid-'90s nostalgia cloud, it is so great. I'm nearly at the end of S1 and (a) apparently I barely remembered anything about S1 and (b) am experiencing it wildly differently than I did in the '90s.

Started writing her yuletide fic way too late (censoring just how late I begin for fear of having it in the public record)

5, probably anything I tasted when visiting either @leiascully.bsky.social or a friend in Atlanta. I'm also counting chicken livers as #5 even though I have no idea what's southern about them, but have very much eaten them in Jewish/mideast contexts
