Just, every single thing about the plane story today has been absolutely w i l d

This reminds me of that KinnPorsche fic but also: took this pic on a rooftop dexk today, how utterly gorgeous, I love this tree

NYC friends! Marina (@sabrina-il.bsky.social, also on DW, AO3 etc) is going to be in NYC in late Aug to early Sept, and is looking (as we all always are) for fannish folks to hang out with. If you're in the area and might be open to company from abroad, give a sign so she can ping you 😊

I voted in the primaries today and it's amazing how many good candidates there were and how hard it was to narrow them down to just a few votes. I am so pleased with the final list, and hope that as many of them as possible end up with parliamentary seats www.ynetnews.com/article/synm...

Life update from a few days ago! roga.dreamwidth.org/523562.html Still v weird for bluesky to be completely public so not really updating stuff here, maybe irrationally. I *will* update when It Actually Happens though soooo sometime within the next few weeks 🫣

Omg I have arrived at S2E20 of my ER rewatch and Doug Ross is watching Days of Our Lives and commenting on how much Marlena's personality has changed ever since she got possessed. Just casual scenes of George Clooney watching Diedre Hall on TV lol @akaharriet.bsky.social thinking of you

roga @roga.bsky.social · 17/06/2026

Ever since Netflix put up ER a few days ago I have been living in a mid-'90s nostalgia cloud, it is so great. I'm nearly at the end of S1 and (a) apparently I barely remembered anything about S1 and (b) am experiencing it wildly differently than I did in the '90s.

Started writing her yuletide fic way too late (censoring just how late I begin for fear of having it in the public record)

5, probably anything I tasted when visiting either @leiascully.bsky.social or a friend in Atlanta. I'm also counting chicken livers as #5 even though I have no idea what's southern about them, but have very much eaten them in Jewish/mideast contexts

Guess I'm back to sleeping in sensible neighbor-appropriate PJs just in case. Hope this remains a chill peaceful night /o\

Okay THAT'S IT I'm going to try writing tonight, it's been LONG ENOUGH. What should I attempt: 1. Trying to finish the KinnPorsche/Discworld (Watch books) crossover I started literally before the war (2023) 2. Heated Rivalry/specific crossover fandom I've been thinking about

roga @roga.bsky.social · 22/04/2026

Today's weather is just about as good as you can imagine for April (would take it any day of the year, honestly): warm sun, cool wind, blue sky, blue sea. Perfection.

050

roga @roga.bsky.social · 14/04/2026

Today's siren was, for once, just a standard annual memorial siren for Yom Hashoa. It's weird. I've never felt like I've had to mentally justify [my/county's] existence to the world as much as I have in the past 3 years. But in the end, I don't come from a family of holocaust survivors. Zero.

Tonight's big question: do I risk going to sleep in (or out) of PJs that are not presentable to neighbours? I think I'm going for it

Shrinking ❤️ So grateful to have gotten such a good season of TV, so sad I don't have anything like that to look forward to on a weekly basis now

Project Hail Mary finally opened here in some theaters and I saw! There was an alarm during an extremely specific scene with a particular song playing that had anyone cracking up because of just how on the nose it was; movie paused until the incident was over and then resumed from the same place.

250

roga @roga.bsky.social · 05/04/2026

Took a day off today, no alarms where I am since 8pm last night, I slept SO WELL omg

060

roga @roga.bsky.social · 01/04/2026

A festive start to the day (I knew today would be full of unknowns and definitely expected these throughout the day and the seder this evening but just let me sleep in a little longer)

screenshot of this morning's alarms, avoiding keywords to avoid random replies sorry

240

roga @roga.bsky.social · 27/03/2026

Had an alarm at 1:48 and clock switched to daylight saving time at 2AM so I got back home at 3:01. A journey.

040

roga @roga.bsky.social · 26/03/2026

Was JUST texting a friend about it looking like we were gonna get a nice sunset when we got yet another alarm - today has certainly been the most I've experienced so far, they've been relentless today. Tldr by the time I got out: missed the sunset alasssss

Screenshot of text chat:
17:40: Looks like there'll be a pretty sunset today
17:43: string of cursing emojis
17:43: This better not make me miss the sunset
17:44: pic of pinkish clouds over rooftops

Text chat cont:
18:02: pic of gray clouds over rooftops, post sunset
Nooooo

Back my apt (back to vague posting so I don't get responses from randos) and will sleep here for the first time in over 3 weeks! Very excited and hoping oa quiet night. Even planning on going to the office tomorrow, will see how the night pans out

170

roga @roga.bsky.social · 22/03/2026

V much waiting for movie theaters to come back so I can watch Project Hail Mary like the rest of the world

Went to Tel Aviv for a checkup and decided to work from a cafe (that has a shelter) and it's like sitting at a cafe during covid; momentary normalcy! Amazing. Sun is shining. There is music. Some people around. Very exciting.

Took a stroll around hometown today and while I've been pretty much indoors for the past two weeks, spring is so very much happening outside

Do not love the fact that this is called Judas-tree in English! Will stick with klil hachoresh or crown of the forest, whose bloom always signifies spring. In the photo: the beginning of pink blossoms on the bare tree

Yet another day with almost zero ability to concentrate on work ugh

020

roga @roga.bsky.social · 02/03/2026

I left Tel Aviv for the slightly quieter suburbs on Saturday, have been wfh in between visits to my aunt's (aka my source of amazing home cooked lunches), not really going out so I can be close enough to shelters. Today I discovered there's a small walking path behind her house and it was magical.

Dirt path wandering between trees, pink red wildflowers dotting the grass, sunset peeking through

Pink cyclamens scattered across a green, stony hill, a walking path barely visible in the grass

Bridgerton watch party part the second! This time with some Purim snack representation. It was a fun watch but I'm glad the season of the boringest Bridgerton is over and hopefully a million years from now we can move on to some interesting sisters.

Sweets including berry hamentaschen and domino mask cookies.

Finger sandwiches, sliced vegetables, brioches and jam.

I can't decide which sport to watch now because they're all good but wow the British mixed doubles curling team are so good! The fact that they are all mic'd up definitely makes it all much more interesting

More good things from today: almond trees blooming just in time for Tu Bishvat and winter wildflowers coming out! I hope it rains so they'll last a little longer. A really beautiful day today.

My sister once made biscuits for Ted Lasso and now we've upgraded to scones & finger sandwiches for Bridgerton S4 and I don't know if I can top if off for the second half of the season but it was great great fun (I gotta remove crusts more often, come on self, spoil yourself)
